| Objective:To explore the role of IL-2 and IL-4 in the plasma cell mastitis occurring and developing by detecting the expression of IL-2, IL-4 in plasma cell mastitis tissues. Methods: 30 plasma cell mastitis patients who were received surgical treatment in our hospital from January 2009 to April 2014 as our experiment objects, and 10 cases of breast hyperplasia patients in the same period in hospital as the control group. Meanwhile, we regarded the IL-2 as the representatives of Th1-type cytokines, IL4 as the representatives of Th2-type cytokines, and the immunehistochemistry was used to detect the expression of IL-2, IL-4 in plasma cell mastitis and breast hyperplasia tissue. Results: 1.The expression of the IL-2 in the plasma cell mastitis group was higher than that of the breast hyperplasia group(P<0.05),and the expression of the IL-4 in these two groups had no significant difference(P>0.05). 2. In different clinical stages of plasma cell mastitis, the expression of the IL-2 in the acute phase group had significant difference with the comparison of the sub acute phase, chronic phase group and the control group(P<0.05). Meanwhile the expression of IL-2 in the sub-acute phase group and the chronic phase group had significant difference with the comparison of the control group(P<0.05), and which in the comparison of sub-acute phase group and the chronic phase group had no significant difference(P>0.05). However the comparison of the expression of IL-4 in different clinical stages of plasma cell mastitis with no significant difference(P > 0.05). 3. The comparison of the expression of IL-2 and IL-4 in different clinical type organizations of plasma cell mastitis had no significant difference(P > 0.05). 4.There is a negative correlation between IL-2 and IL-4 in the tissues with different PCM stages(P<0.05).Conclusion: 1. Th1-type cytokines IL-2 in a dominant state in the tissue of plasma cell mastitis, and Th2-type cytokines IL-4 in a disadvantaged state in the tissue of plasma cell mastitis. The balance of Th1 and Th2 in the tissue may shifted toward to Th1 direction. 2.As the disease progresses, the expression of IL-4 was decreased with the increased expression of IL-2.So,we supposed that IL-2 is an important factor in the occurrence, development and outcomes of plasma cell mastitis. |
