Under the complex electromagnetic environment,Much higher requirements is putforward in modern radar system. A radar system can’t be implemented successfullywith one chip or a single chip board. At this time, designing a radar system withmultiple chip boards has become the mainstream. Data scheduling between each boardalso becomes the key factor to improve the performance of radar system. In the past fewyears, the processing speed of processor has been improved a lot. While bus bandwidthused for data transfer was improved slowly. Looking for a new data transmissionscheme becomes the problem which the radar designers urgently need to solve. In this thesis, the theory of high-speed serial data transmission technology isdiscussed. VPX architecture and the theories of related serial data transmission are alsoresearched in my article. Several works have been done as follow:1.The principle of the high speed serial to transmit data is studied, includingSERDES technology、8b/10b encoding、clock recovery technology and so on.2. VPX bus architecture is studied. Based on the research on VPX bus, a VPXsignal processing platform is introduced, mainly including its hardware architecture andavailable functions.3. Aurora serial data transfer protocol is studied, mainly including its theory andfeature. At the same time, an aurora interface is implemented in a Xilinx FPGA. Finally,a data acquisition, transfer and playback system is designed in the VPX signalprocessing platform.4. Serial RapidIO data transfer protocol is studied, mainly including its theory andfeature. At the same time, a RapidIO node is implemented in a Xilinx FPGA. At the end,a system of radar signal is implemented in the VPX signal processing platform.
