With the development of science and technology progress of economy and society, themass media gradually covered the people’s lives, has become a modern society everywheresource of information, but also become an important carrier of Ideological and politicaleducation. Middle school students as the subject of Ideological and political education, is theimpact of mass media grew up under the mass media, to rely on and trust is very high, so themass media as an important carrier of Ideological and political education on students deeply,on one hand, give full play to the role of the carrier, but on the other hand, the carrier of masscommunication is a double-edged sword, because of its own defects and immature, negativeeffects on students’ Ideological and political education. A correct view of the influence ofmass media on middle school students’ Ideological and political education, actively respond tothe adverse effects of the carrier of mass communication, is an important task in the new eraof Ideological and political education of middle school students.The text has carried on a more thorough discussion on this topic, is divided into threeparts: the first part, some basic concepts of mass media; the second part expounds thecharacteristics of groups of students, it discusses the positive influence of mass media on thestudents, including the rich content, the ideological and political education, modern meansand technology, to expand the way of Ideological and political education and improve the fouras pects of the effectiveness of Ideological and political education, followed by the analysis ofthe current mass media the middle school ideological and political education challenges,respectively from the mass media on middle school students’ image, communication content,media diversity, practitioners of ethics and communication object the special psychologicalfive aspects of the analysis. The last part of the article with the current mass media challengesthe above analysis, puts forward corresponding suggestions, including strengtheningoccupation moral education of mass media practitioners, improve self-disciplineconsciousness of mass communication and its staff; strengthen the supervision on the masscommunication, to establish supervision mechanism and effective; strengthening the literacyeducation of Ideological and political education and the media on the students, enhance thequality level of middle school students from the whole; the establishment of schools, familiesof mass communication and cooperation, improve the ideological and political education information feedback mechanism, the optimization and innovation of mass media carrier,weakening the negative effect.
