Objective:In this study, patients with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) and healthy human as clinical study object,to explore the clinical efficacy of acupuncture treatment of CFS, and by observing the changes of immunological indexes in CFS patients before and after acupuncture treatment, preliminarily analysis and explore the possible mechanisms of acupuncture treatment of CFS, to provide theoretical basis for acupuncture intervention in the treatment of CFS.Methods:Divid the CFS patients whom came to the acupuncture outpatient department of Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Chinese medicine during March2012to February2013into tow grops:treatment group and control group, according to1:1ratio. Treatment group has15CFS cases, with acupuncture therapy, once every two days,3times a week,4weeks for a course of treatment. Control group has15CFS cases with nothing treatment. Observed the changes of clinical symptom scores, fatigue scale-14scores, and IgA, IgG, IgM levels in CFS patients before and after treatment. According to the baseline characteristics of the CFS cases, randomly selected15healthy volunteers as the other control group over the same period in the Hospital Physical Examination Center, with nothing treatment. Using analysis of variance, paired t-test and the other statistical methods of analysis to research data, evaluate the clinical efificacy of acupuncture treatment of CFS and the regulatory role of the immune system.Result:After the treatment, clinical symptom scores, fatigue scale-14scores of CFS patients were significantly lower (P<0.01), and IgA, IgG levels were both significantly higher (P<0.05)Conclusion:The clinical effects of acupuncture treatment of CFS is significant, acupuncture therapy can improve the immune function of CFS patients. Prompt that acupuncture may play a therapeutic role by regulating the immune function of CFS patients. |
