Objective:To observe the influence of Xingnaojing injection to the hs-CRP、IL-6of intracerebral hemorrhage ("ICH") patients. To explore the mechanism of Xingnaojing injection on treating ICH. To find an effective medicine to protect the nerve cell.Method:90cases of ICH patients in the first24hour of their symptom were randomly divided into two groups including45in control group (Group A) and45in treatment group (Group B). Group A consist of24male and21female, aged55-77with an average of63.7(±7.3). Group B consist of25male and20female, aged54-80with an average of64.5(±8.2). Another group of40normal people was observed for comparison, including22male and18female, aged57-79with an average of63.8(±9.1).Group A was treated with routine western medicine including dehydrating to reduce intracranial pressure, controlling the blood pressure, staunching bleeding and nourishing the nerve, etc. In addition to the routine treatment, Group B was treated with IV drip of Xingnaojing injection for two weeks as a course. The defect of neural function of both groups were tested before and after treatment. The fasting blood was drawn from cubital vein before treatment and on the3rd,8th and14th morning after treatment to test the hs-CRP and IL-6. Data was analyzed by SPSS14.0software.Results:1. The hs-CRP and IL-6of ICH patients were obviously higher than normal people.(P<0.01).2. After treatment, the hs-CRP of Group B decreased to normal. The decrease of hs-CRP and IL-6of Group B was more obvious than Group A.(P<0.01).3. The ICH patients’defect of neural function was positively related to their hs-CRP and IL-6.(r=0.47,0.44,P<0.01)4. To the defect of neural function, the treatment for Group B was obviously more effective than Group A. Conclusion:1. The cerebral hemorrhage is directly related to the level of hs-CRP and IL-6, which indicates the significance of defect of neural function.2. After treatment, the level of hs-CRP and IL-6shows a gentle declining curve, while the treatment group had a more obvious decrease by using Xingnaojing injection.3. The Xingnaojing injection is effective for ICH, especially for the repair of nerve function。 We can presume that Xingnaojing injection inhibits hs-CRP and reduce its damage to blood-brain barrier and vascular basement membrane, so it relieves cerebral ischemic, cerebral edema and reperfusion injury. Also the Xingnaojing injection can clear free radicals so it inhibits inflammatory cytokines such as IL-6, therefore reduces inflammation and immunoreaction. In this way it protects the brain cells by reducing the toxicity of excitatory amino acid. So Xingnaojing injection is an effective inhibitor to hs-CRP and IL-6.
