Student nurses are the students who have finished the theoretical study of nursingundergraduate or junior colleges, and begin the clinical practice. As a special group,student nurses are not only the students, but also the future nurses. And the clinicalpractice is the first step and the most important step to complete this transformation.Student nurses can partly finish clinical nursing work under the teachers’ guidanceand supervision. On the one hand, the student nurses can establish the nurse-patientrelationship with the patient during the clinical practice. On the other hand, thestudent nurses’ behaviour can influence the relationship between their teachers and thepatients. So the student nurses’ clinical practice can influence the whole nurses tosome extent, and then the nurse-patient relationship.Student nurse management is an important part of the hospital management. Andgood student nurses’management will contribute to the clinical practice andcultivating perfect nursing talents. At the same time, good student nurses’managementwill contribute to improving the whole level of care and the harmonious developmentof the nurse-patient relationship. On the basis of above considerations, we want toexplore the influence of strengthening the student nurse management on thenurse-patient relationship by the retrospective analysis.Objective:To explore the influence of Strengthening the student nurse management on thenurse-patient relationship. And to give some advice for the hospital on buildingharmonious nurse-patient relationship.Subjects and Methods:1. Subjects: The student nurses in our hospital during the period from March2009to March2011.2. Methods:2.1The student nurses were divided into two groups: control group-beforestrengthening management (2009.03-2010.03) and test group-after strengtheningmanagement (2010.03-2011.03). All the student nurses were analyzed retrospectively:(1) To compare the exam results difference of the two groups.(2) To compare the difference of the teachers’ evaluation for the students.(3) To compare the difference of the satisfaction of patients for the studentnurses.(4) To compare the difference of the satisfaction of patients for the whole nurses.(5) To compare the difference of the nursing adverse events caused by the studentnurses.2.2Management scheme:To train the student nurses standardly and systematicallybefore the practice, during the middle period of practice and final period of practice.And to train the teachers uniformly, to standardize the education contents andevaluation criterion, to eliminate the evaluation criterion difference caused by theteachers.2.3Quality control:(1) The investigator training: discuss the score requirement of the questionnaires,unify the investigative standard.(2) Getting the data standardly: The data was collected by specially-assignedperson, and then was input by at least three person, and was checked each other,corrected the error and correct problems. And we had get rid of the unqualified data.2.4T test and χ2test were adopted to compare every index values by SPSS15.0statistic analysis software.Results:1. The influence of Strengthening the student nurse management on the practice effect:The exam results of the test group were better than that of the control group(P<0.05). 2. The influence of Strengthening the student nurse management on the teachers:After strengthening the student nurse management, the teachers were more satisfiedwith student nurses than before(P<0.05).3. The influence of Strengthening the student nurse management on the patientsatisfaction.3.1Patient satisfaction with student nurses: After strengthening the student nursemanagement, patient satisfaction with student nurses increased obviously than before(P<0.05).3.2Patient satisfaction with the whole nurses: After strengthening the student nursemanagement, patient satisfaction with the whole nurses increased obviously thanbefore(P<0.05).4. The influence of Strengthening the student nurse management on the nursingadverse events caused by the student nurses: After strengthening the student nursemanagement, the nursing adverse events caused by the student nurses were alldecreased to some extent. While only the secondary school students group hadsignificant difference(P<0.05).Conclusions:1. Strengthening the student nurse management could increase the patientsatisfaction with the student nurse, and then with the whole nurses, which willcontribute to establishing harmonious nurse-patient relationship.2. Strengthening the student nurse management had provided a new way toestablish harmonious nurse-patient relationship.
