With the development of the society and the increase of information, therequirement for speed and capacity of information storage system grows day by day,and therefore, more demand for the speed and reliability of data transmission. As aresult of the skew between data and clock, the difficulty of PCB wiring and thecrosstalk between signals, the traditional parallel transmission mode is no longer fit forthe high-speed system. Meanwhile, the high-speed serial transmission technology, withits wide bandwidth, outstanding anti-interference performance, and simple interface, israpidly replacing the traditional parallel technology and becoming the mainstream of theindustry. Especially the combination of the serial transmission technology and theField-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) technology, it makes the design of the serialinterface becomes more simple and flexible. The paper designs a storage system for high-speed video stream by using RocketIOMGT, the serial interface in Virtex-4FPGA made by Xilinx Corporation, as the mainway of data transmission. With Virtex-4FPGA XC4FX100, ADSP BF537and NANDFlash K9NCG08U5M as its core devices, the system can make the real-time storage forhigh-speed signals from parallel LVDS interface, Fibre Channel4X optical fiberinterface and Camera Link interface for high-speed camera. And it can rapidlydownload the stored data using another Fibre Channel4X optical fiber interface.Meanwhile, the system also has the ability to detect the invalid block and the design foravoiding the use of the invalid block. In addition, necessary simulation is made to verifythe feasibility of the design.
