Therefore, the study of mediareports on sports for the disabled, as well as the reports in the media that depicts theimage of the disabled, has its significance and social value.In this paper, based on the Guangzhou Paralympics" disability and health inharmony" social background, I used three different types of Guangzhou newspaper ("Guangzhou daily"" the south metropolis newspaper", and " information times") asstudy texts. In the news frame theory presents three newspaper form framework, eventreporting frame, athletics match figures reported frame, then using the method ofcontent analysis, on these reports under the framework of the cases reported.It aims toexplore Guangzhou newspapers during the event, what were the focus of the reports;whether the event reports is based on" competition” or based on the humanisticcharacteristics figures. It also analyses whether the profile reports are centered on thedisabled, and whether the Guangzhou papers has successfully depicted the images ofthe disabled.The research has shown that, Guangzhou Paralympic Games, from its opening tothe closing ceremony, Guangzhou newspaper has increased number of reports on theevents. The papers used news format as well as extensive reports. The formats arediversified. The reports give good details. Mostly are of a positive view. There aremany lengthy reports, wherein the profile reports made up the majority. Many usedthe “narrative" style to describe the characters, in which way the plots and personalityunfold as the story goes. For the reports on the disabled, the story generally depictsthem as brave, strong and optimistic even though they are disabled. Those threepapers on the disabled, has reflected that the disabled are concerned about theGuangzhou-Asia Para Games, they also showed great support and help to the causefor the disabled, showing the "disabled and health in harmony” spirit. In thefuture,reports on the Games are mostly centralized; there should be an increase inextensive reports. Second, the sports event for the disabled should be focused on thedisabled athletes, should widen the selection range of disabled athletes reported; at thesame time, it should increase the reportorial strength of the non-athletes disabled,helping add the richness and comprehensiveness of the sports reports of the disabled.
