Uygur medicinal have a great variety of members, in which seed medicinalmaterials were more than150. The vast majority of common traditional Uygurmedicine were economic plants, which can be used as drugs, seasonings, spices anddeworming agents. The components of essential oils from11common traditional Uygur medicine wereanalyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Essential oil of Carumcarvi L. and Anethum graveolens have olefins and ketone substance,Cnidiummonnieri and Wild Daucuscarota have olefins, Foeniculum vulgare andPimpinella anisum L. have ethers and olefins, Coriandrumsativum and Daucuscarotahave alcohols and olefins, Apiumgraveolens has olefins, phenols and ketone substance,Fructus Cinnamomi has aldehydes, Cuminumcyminum has alcohols, aldehydes andolefins as the main components.Application of atomic absorption spectrometry and atomic fluorescencespectrometry to detect mineral mineral elements (Ca, Na, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, K, Mg,Mn, Ni, Pb, Hg, Sr and Zn) in11Uygur medicine herbs. At the meantime, Pimpinellaanisum L., Cnidiummonnieri, Anethum graveolens and Fructus cinnamomi come from12different sources were analysed by principal component analysis and dataclustering, analyse the correlation between different origins and trace elements indifferent Uygur medicine herbs. This paper also examined the antimicrobial activity of essential oils from Uygurmedicine herbs.11essential oils were initially tested against a panel ofmicroorganisms using the filter paper method and microdilution method. Themicroorganisms included gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus,Staphylococcus epidermidis, Enterococcus faecalis, Bacillus subtilis; gram-negativebacteria: Escherichia coli, Klebsiella ozaenae, Shigella fexneri, Acinetobacterbaumannii and fungal strains: Alternaria alternate, Penicillium digitatum, Magnaporthe grisea, Rhodotorula glutinis. Fructus cinnamomi essential oil showed astrong inhibitory activity to12kinds of microorganisms. Cumin essential oil andfennel essential oil have a moderate strength inhibitory activity to all themicroorganisms. The remaining8kinds of essential oils also have slight inhibitoryactivity to some of the microorganisms.TLC bioautography combined GC and GC-MS for the analysis of the mainantibacterial constituents of Fructus cinnamomi and Fructus Trachyspermi Ammiessential oils. Find optimizing conditions for TLC bioautography. The antibacterialactivities of the two essential oils were cinnamaldehyde and thymol, respectively.
