| Mineral elements in humans have very important physiological functions, asthe important components of human tissues. The lack or excess of mineral elementscan cause different type of diseases. Because of the uneven distribution of thechemical elements in the earth crust surface, the chemical elements of the waterbodies, soils and plants in different regions have big differences in terms of their typesand contents. Changbai Mountain area in the Jilin province of China is an importantnatural mineral water origin. Mineral water containing a variety of healthy mineralelements, has much important physiological significance for human health. Objective:Investigate the mineral elements content in the environments of naturalmineral water origin and non-mineral water regions in Jilin Province, and provide ascientific basis for approaching the health effect of mineral elements in mineralwater and exploring the mineral water resource. Methods:Mineral water and surrounding environment were chose as object in JingyuCounty of Jilin Province, and Changling County and Dongliao County were choseas non-mineral water region controls. Mineral water of Linhai Spring, YinlongSpring, Shenlong Spring and Wulong Spring in Jingyu County, Longfengshanreservoir in Changling County and Julongtan reservoir in Dongliao County werechose as source water sampling points of drinking water; two schools of the threecounties were chose as sampling points of drinking water, respectively andrandomly. Surrounding materials as soil, soybean and corn were collected fromsource water surrounding area.22microelements (V, Cr, Cu, Se, Sn, Sb, Li, Mn, Co,Mo, Ag, Cs, Ni, Sr, B, Be, Al, Ge, Rb, Ba, Fe, Zn) and4macroelements (K, Ca, Na,Mg) were tested. Microelements were detected by Inductively Coupled PlasmaMass Spectrometry (ICP-MS), and macroelemnts were detected by InductivelyCoupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES). All data were inputtedinto database and then were analyzed using SPSS13.0. Results:1. Contents of mineral elements were consistent with drinking natural mineralwater health standard (GB8537-2008).2. The elements contents as Cs and Sn in mineral water, and V, Mn, Zn, Al,and Rb in drinking water of Jingyu County were higher than both ChanglingCounty and Dongliao County (P<0.05).3. The mineral elements contents as V, Cr, Cu, Li, Mn, Co, Mo, Ag, Ni, Be, Al,Ba, Fe, Zn, and Mg in soil of Jingyu County were higher than both ChanglingCounty and Dongliao County (P<0.05).4. The mineral elements contents as V, Sb, Sr in soybeen, Cu, Sb, Zn in corn ofJingyu County were higher than both Changling County and Dongliao County (P<0.05).5. Among the soil-plant transfer factor of Jingyu County, Changling Countyand Dongliao County, the TFs of Cu, Mo, B, K, Zn were much higher than otherelements TFs, the TFs of V, Fe, Li, Al were the lowest (TF <0.01).Conclusions:1. The mineral elements contents were accord with the WHO and Chinadrinking natural mineral water health standard.2. Drinking mineral water of Jingyu County was beneficial for health, becauseof containing of Rb, the lower content of Na and Ca.3. The mineral elements content of V, Cr, Cu, Li, Mn, Co, Mo, Ag, Ni, Be, Al,Ba, Fe, Zn and Mg in the soil of Jingyu County were higher than Changling Countyand Dongliao County.4. High contents of mineral elements as V, Cu and Zn in the crops of Jingyu Countymaybe related with the high levels of mineral elements in the soil of Jingyu County. Theresults have consistency.5. The soil-plant TFs of Cu, Mo, B, K, andZn were much higher than otherelements TFs, the TFs of V, Fe, Li, and Al were the lowest (TF <0.01).The TFs ofsoybean were higher than TFs of corn in the same regions. |
