AimsThis study aims to establish clinical nursing teachers’ competency model, including establishing clinical-nursing teachers’ competence character entries, behavior performance and the weight. To explore clinical nursing teachers’ competency model’s application in nursing human resource management, and to provide a scientific basis of clinical nursing teachers’ selection, evaluation, training, development for hospitals.MethodsThrough the in-depth interviews with20excellent clinical nursing teachers and the questionnaire survey for100students to collect clinical nursing teachers’ competence characteristics, preliminarily make clinical nursing teachers competency model framework. And by using the Delphi method to make a two-wheeled questionnaire survey on20nursing experts, determining the competency model’s elements, behavior performance and the factors weight.Results1. The31clinical nursing teachers’ competency characteristics were given by the in-depth interviews and the35clinical nursing teachers’ competency characteristics were given by the questionnaire investigation. Clinical nursing teachers competency model theory frame was formed by comprehensive analysis, including6groups,34competence characteristics,40behavior indexes, as experts behavior in the first round of the questionnaire.’2. The competency model was determined by two rounds of the experts consultation, including six groups (professional quality, professional attitude, professional ability, teaching ability, interpersonal coordination ability, personality characteristics),31competence characteristics and36behavior indexes, to assign a value, and to develop" the clinical nursing teachers competency assessment scale"3. Delphi expert consultation reliable analysis:questionnaire recovery rate was95%,100%, which indicated that the experts’enthusiasm is high; Expert group personal authority was in0.70above, experts group coefficient was0.7562, which showed that expert group has good representative level and authority. The variation coefficient was between6.25%~15.42%, and expert consultation coordinate coefficient was close to0.5, the chi-square p value is less than0.05, a statistical significance. It indicated that the coordination extent increased gradually, the experts’suggestion was centralized.ConclusionThe deep interview, questionnaire and Delphi experts consultation method combined constructing clinical nursing teachers’competence model method is appropriate and scientific. Covered with six groups and36competence characteristics,"clinical nursing teachers’ competency model" is scientific, reliable, complete. It provides a scientific methodology ideas for clinical nursing teachers’ selection, evaluation, training, and is operable and practical.Subsequent research proposals:To increase the behavior of the quantitative evaluation index, further enhance operability and objectivity;To expand research object scope, and increase the sample size; Assessment scale is to be measured with analysis validity and reliability, further adjusting index system.
