general information,"China Registered Nurse Core Com petence Scale"(attached to the specific content)and 2-3 open questions. For the qu antitative data,SPSS 17.0 statistical software is used for statistical description, vari ance analysis,T test and multiple step wise regression analysis. Results: 1The status of baccalaureate nursing graduates' competency and influential factors.1.1 The status of baccalaureate nursing graduates' competency. The overall average score of self-assessment is2.96±0.45.The highest score for th e subscales was Teaching content organization ability and the lowest communication skills.1.2 The comparison of self-assessment and employers' assessment The paired t-test showed that the overall average nursing competency in self-asses sment was significantly higher than that calculated by employers' assessment(P<0.05).The differences between the results of these two types of assess ment were also perfectly significant in four subscales(Clinical practice ability, disease management ability, communication ability, clinical teaching ability, learning ability,c ritical thinking ability)(P<0.05)while no significant differences were found in the re st subscale(Clinical research ability)(P>0.05)1.3 The influential factors of baccalaureate nursing graduates' competency. The multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that: the main factors that infl uence the core competency are: whether playing a crucial role in designing and con ducting research subjects;positions in the work;attitude and emotion towards work;ability of initiated learning and
