Obejective :⑴To explore the rate of occurrence of Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) and complications as anxiety and depression on hospitalized Type-D personality patients in the Suzhou area of China.⑵To explore the correlation between Type-D personality patients with CHD and anxiety ,depression in the Suzhou area of China. As to the perspective of nursing psychology, further analysis on the cause of poor prognosis and decrease in life quality on Type-D personality patients with CHD are made.Method: A cross-sectional study was made on 130 samples of patients with CHD chosen from four highest-level (class three) hospitals in Suzhou city by using Type-D Personality Scale (DS-14), Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), and self-designed basic condition questionnaire.Result:⑴The survey showed that the Type-D personality patients with CHD took up to 44.62%, while the non-Type-D personality patients with CHD occupy the rest. The rate of occurrence of anxiety for Type-D personality patients with CHD is 36.21%, which was clearly higher than the non-Type-D personality patients with CHD, while the latter showed 8.33% rate of occurrence of anxiety ( P<0.05). The rate of occurrence of depression for Type-D personality patients with CHD was 53.45%, which was clearly higher than the non-Type-D personality patients with CHD, while the latter showed 26.32% rate of occurrence of depression (P<0.05).⑵In comparison to the non-Type-D personality patients with CHD, patients with Type-D personality are relatively easier to incline in negative emotions. Within the Type-D personality patients with CHD, NA and anxiety/depression were positively related; the higher the score of NA, the more sever of the complications (Chart 5,6, P<0.05).Conclusion:⑴There was a higher proportion of population of Type-D personality patients with CHD in the Suzhou area of China. Such patients in this area have higher occurring rate of complications, which include anxiety and depression, than to the non-Type-D personality patients with CHD. Secondly, Type-D personality patients with CHD show a higher rate of occurrence in getting depression than anxiety.⑵A further explanation with nursing psychology is made, base on the high relation between depression and anxiety to the type-D personality patients with CHD. Depression and anxiety are proven to be the indirect cause of poor prognosis and decrease in life quality on Type-D personality patients with CHD. Thus, these could be the basis for the health care workers to offer the secondary prevention on anxiety and depression.
