Six years have passed since the Blog appeared, and the Blog plays a role at home and abroad that should not be neglected by the academic community. However, little research has been conducted in aesthetics on Blog at home. This particular paper offers an esthetic interpretation of the Chinese Blog and Chinese esthetic culture from a historical perspective and adopts Denis McQail Society-Culture Audience Research Methods to analyze the Blog culture activities. In the age of Web 2.0, the Blog offers people a platform for expressing and exploring the self. Such a personal platform allows individuals to enjoy the qualities of Web2.0 age—such as freedom, equality and innovation—in spirit.. Thus, the most important element of the Blog culture lies in the existence of sublimity. By means of the Blog, sublimity still exists in the midst of impetuosity, parody, and consumer culture, and sharing real life experiences with the public represents its highest form. The paper consists of three parts. The first chapter offers a "survey of Blog in the age of 2.0," tracing the developments of Chinese Blog, its connotations, and the characteristics of Web2.0, The author then introduces the Four No principles and Four attributes (grass roots, openness, innovation and equality). The second chapter addresses "the mechanism of Blog aesthetic." First, it analyzes the problematic role of the mass media in constructing real life and concludes that the mass media "softens" the real world. Second, it introduces the media theory of mass socialized, analyzing the opportunities that the age of Web2.0 media provides for the contemporary aesthetics culture. The Blog, the argument runs, has relieved some of the "softening effect" of mass media by providing a platform for the real life. The third chapter addresses "the aesthetic culture characteristics of Chinese Blog". From the concrete phenomena of Chinese Blog culture, it interprets the aesthetics characteristics of Chinese Blog culture with examples including "ugly became a important part of aesthetics," "truth behind false," and "Blog Form and revival of words," and suggests that sublimity—the highest form of aesthetics—still exists in the Blog, where people freely share their real life experiences.
