Study On Institutional Repository Management Of University Research Achievements

Research achievements management is an important part of scientific research management. Most of the Research achievements are created by colleges and universities. Following with the innovation consciousness enhancement and the reform of scientific and technological system, scientific researchers are paying more attention to their research. Growing research funds greatly promoted the development of scientific research activities, quantity and quality of research achievements had significantly improved. Traditional scientific research management needs to change with more and more digital research achievements.Scientific research not only needs scientific literature also produce many digital research materials. These digital research materials are important carriers of scientific research activities and record the process of research activities, should become an integral part of university digital assets. However, most of the research materials format are not unified and distributed stored in the personal computers. It is difficult to share and long-term preservation research materials because they lack of orderly organization. How to effectively manage and take advantage of these digital assets becomes a new problem in university library.In this context, institutional repositories emerged and developed rapidly. Digital assets of universities should be orderly organized and long-term preserved and shared through institutional repository. This paper aims to do some research in combining research achievements managements and institutional repository with DSpace. These research included research achievements collection, organization, preservation and management. The citation information was added to institutional repositories and analysis this information by bibliometric methods. At last the specific institutions scientific research output power, research achievements influence and resource support capabilities were evaluated.First, this paper discusses the domestic and international IR background, current situation and future development trends based on the survey analysis, then this paper review the development course of research achievements management. Then this paper discussed the possibilities of combining research achievements management and Institutional Repository with DSpace in the current context.Secondly, this paper designs the DSpace-based Institutional Repository. Specific designs includes Institutional Repositories system function,frame structure,work flow and so on. then analyses the requirements and features of DSpace-based Institutions Citation Database and designs the system function of DSpace-based Institutions Citation Database.Finally, this paper discusses how to carry out institutions research achievements management and evaluation from scientific research output power, research achievements influence, resource support capabilities. Then this paper Analysis the advantage of DSpace-based institutions research achievements management and evaluation. At last, this paper uses a University as an example and carries out an institutions research achievements management and evaluation case study.
