An Analysis Of E-government Promotion To The City's Economic And Social Development (Taking Qingdao As An Example)

E-government has become one of the most important fields in modern informatization. The modern Information Technology, which has made the government improve its administration efficiency and public service greatly, has deeply influenced the current administration modes of the government.The E-government not only serves the government, enterprises as well as citizens, but also plays an important role directly or indirectly in the economic development of the entire society. The paper first makes a definition of the word E-government. And based on many references, it has an overview of the theories of the E-government both home and abroad. Then it presents the effect of E-government on the social efficiency economically by analyzing the direct and indirect influences of E-government. The paper takes Qingdao as an example, which conducts E-government construction and economic construction at the same time. Using actual statistics and three principles of investment multiplier , theories of cost benefit and public choice, the paper takes three examples of economic function, administration innovation and social service of Qingdao E-government construction to analyze the three functions of E-government in promoting social economic development and government administration innovation, improving government efficiency and optimizing its external environment. It draws the conclusion that E-government promotes the social development economically.Owing to the fact that there exists the limitations of the current E-government development and the difficulty in relative data collection, the analysis in the paper is no more than Qualitative one.
