Along with the rapid development of national economy and urban construction, city safety plan and emergency rescue of major accident become more and more important. In order to process all kinds of urgent events effectively in time and guarantee the security of urban construction and enterprise's normal production, we must have an urban Integrated Emergency Response System (IERS). The system is a combination of imformation collection, emergencies forecast, command and disposition.Efficient information modeling and display technologies are prerequisites for the effective functioning of IERS. Building an information platform is the key of the building of the IERS. Diversification of the business data and complexity of the demand of information display system are the two primary problems faced by information platform in IERS. These problems hinder the efficient sharing and transmission of data information among different departments and meanwhile pose great difficulties to the construction of information display system.Based on the construction of the imformation platform in IERS, this thesis studied in detail the XML-based technology of information modeling and display. The thesis consists of three parts. Firstly, the thesis presented a unified data model based on database techonology, through which different departments'heterogeneous data can be unified together. Secondly, an efficient, flexible information display system was built through combining the data model with a XML Schema based information display model. At last, the thesis presented a method of dynamicly creating UML model from XML Schema. This method provides a very intuitionistic way to operate XML model. Experiment studies showed that the display system realized the standardization of diverse data, reduced the complexity of building display system and greatly enhanced the flexibility and scalability of the IERS.
