| BackgroundIn the urology clinic, patients of female urethral syndrome (FUS) are increasing dayly. The disease more frequent urination, urgency,urine pain, dysuria as the main performance, with symptoms of lower abdomen suprapubic area and perineal discomfort, urinary retention, urinary incontinence etc., and urine routine and urine culture was negative, and bladder and urethra without implement organic change. There are reports in the literature,20% adult female patients have severe lower urinary tract symptoms of distress. It is estimated that by 2018, about 2 billion 300 million people around the world have at least one lower urinary tract symptoms. In western medicine, there are no better therapy for the disease. The Chinese medicine through syndrome differentiation treatment of female urethral syndrome has certain curative effect in clinic.ObjectiveThis subject aims to study the clinical effect of self-made decoction in treating FUS with kidney deficiency and liver stagnation.MethodsObserve the clinic patients of FUS in department of urology in the second clinical medical college of Beijing university of Chinese medicine during August 2014 to January 2016, including 36 patients with kidney deficiency and liver stagnation after syndrome differentiation. After 4 weeks treatment, compare scores of Under the international symptoms of urinary tract symptoms (LUST), quality of life (QOL) and TCM syndrome before and after treatment, as well as the adverse reactions. All data were analyzed by SPSS 19.0 software, the measured data adopting Mean standard deviation (X±S). Data before and after the treatment with normal distribution adopting pairing t-testing, while that does not conform to the normal distribution adopting non-parametric test, P< 0.05 for the difference is statistically significant. The selected patients were given prescription of nourishing kidney and dredging liver(Dongfang Hospital Pharmacy into granule packing), drug composition:Bupleurum 10g, Rehmannia Huang 15g.Root of herbaceous peony 10g, Chinese yam 15g, Fructus Corni 15g, Alisma 10g,Poria 15g, fried Radix Astragali 30g, angelica 10g,, Sang Piaoqiao 15g, sea Mantis egg case sheath 15g, Fructus alpiniae oxyphyllae 15g, licorice 10g. Directions and dosage:one bag twice daily, add 120-150 milliliter warm boiled water in it, mix up it and drink it immediately.ResultsAmong 36 patients with FUS, more patients are over the age of 50, accounting for 52.8% of the sample size. The longest duration is 10 years and the shortest is 3 months. The average duration is 2.53±2.20 years. After 4 weeks treatment, among 36 patients, a significant difference can be seen in the TCM symptoms after treatment (P< 0.05). Scores of LUST and QOL were significantly different (P< 0.05); In 36 cases,1 recovered,6 were markedly improved,24 patients effectively and 5 invalid. The total effective rate was 86.1%. On the night of frequent micturition, micturition endless, emotion and spirit of waist and knee pain obvious improvement.There are 2 cases appeared mild symptoms such as dry mouth, nausea and dry stool during the time of taking Chinese medicine, which can alleviate without treatment. No drug allergy and intolerance were found.ConclusionsBushenshugan Decoction can improve the clinical symptoms of kidney deficiency and liver stagnation FUS, which deserves further research. |
