Objective To investigate the expression of CD24 and p53 in prostate carcinoma,to preliminarily research its clinical significance. Methods The expression of CD24 and p53 in 25 prostate carcinoma and 29 benign prostate hyperplasia was detected with immunohistochemistry. Results 1.The difference of expression of CD24 between PCa and BPH is not significant and the expression of CD24 is not relevant to the grading of prostate carcinoma. But the strong expression of CD24 has 100% specificity in diagnosis of prostate carcinoma.2.The positive rates of p53 in BPH and PCa were 6.9% and 48% respectively(P=0.001).And the positive level of p53 and prostate cancer pathological grade and clinical stage are related. Also found that the combination of CD24 and p53 on prostate cancer diagnosis sensitivity and specificity were 84% and 37.9%.Conclusion 1.In this experiment, the difference expression of CD24 between PCa and BPH is not significant and the expression of CD24 is not relevant to the grading of PCa.Because the example is not big enough, further study is needed. 2.The expression of p53 is obviously in prostate carcinoma, and it has a clear correlation with the Gleason stage and clinical stage.p53 may have important clinical value to the diagnosis and prognosis of prostate carcinoma. 3. Combining CD24 and p53 can increase the sensitivity of prostate cancer diagnosis, but specificity decreased and the clinical value is little.
