Objective:To explore the expressions of ALCAM and CD24 and its clinical character in HCC.Methods: The expressions of ALCAM and CD24 in 42 cases of hepatocellular carcinoma,42 cases of paraneoplastic cirrhosis were measured by RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry. Then the relationship between ALCAM and CD24's expressions and clinical pathological features were explored.Results1.1 The results of RT-PCR showed that the level of ALCAM mRNA in tumor tissues were obviously higher than that in the paraneoplastic tissues; in 42 case, the positive rate of ALCAM mRNA in tumor tissues and paraneoplastic tissues were 66.67% and 14.29% respectively. They have positive correlation with the histological differentiation(P =0.019),the intrahepatic metastasis( P=0.04), but not with the sex, the level of serum HBsAg,the level of preoperative serum alpha-fetoprotein(AFP), absence of tumor capsule and the intrahepatic metastasis,the tumor size,the number of tumor. The expressions of CD24 in HCC were obviously higher than that in the paraneoplastic tissues by RT-PCR, the positive rate of CD24 mRNA in tumor tissues and paraneoplastic tissues was 71.43% and 11.90% respectively, they have positive correlation with the histological differentiation( P =0.028),the intrahepatic metastasis(P=0.031), but also not with the sex, the level of serum HBsAg,the level of preoperative serum alpha-fetoprotein(AFP).1.2 The expressions of ALCAM in HCC were obviously higher than that in the paraneoplastic tissues by means of Elivision .In 42 case, the positive rate of ALCAM in tumor tissues and paraneoplastic tissues was 71.43% and 21.43% respectively, the differences have significance. They have positive correlation with the histological differentiation( P =0.012), the intrahepatic metastasis( P=0.031), but not with the sex, the level of serum HBsAg,the level of preoperative serum alpha-fetoprotein(AFP), absence of tumor capsule and the intrahepatic metastasis,the tumor size,the number of tumor.The method of Elivision shows that the expressions of CD24 in HCC were obviously higher than that in the paraneoplastic tissues, The expression of CD24 was significantly correlated with the histological differentiation (P =0.025)and the intrahepatic metastasis(P =0.008), but also not with the sex,the level of serum HBsAg,the level of preoperative serum alpha-fetoprotein(AFP), absence of tumor capsule and the tumor size,the number of tumor.In sum, the expressions of ALCAM and CD24 in mRNA and protein were significantly correlated with the histological differentiation and the intrahepatic metastasis, but also not with the sex,the level of serum HBsAg,the level of preoperative serum alpha-fetoprotein(AFP), absence of tumor capsule and the tumor size,the number of tumor.Conclusion:ALCAM and CD24 up regulate in HCC suggests that they may play important roles in the oncogenesis and progression of hepatoeellular carcinoma;They may be used as one of the new indexes for evaluating the development of HCC and predicating the prognosis of the patients.
