Investigation And Analysis Of Family Function And Coping Styles In Patients With Type 2 Diabetes

Objective1.To explore the characteristics of family function and coping styles in type 2 diabetes patients.2.To explore the correlativity among family function and coping styles in type 2 diabetes patients.3.To explore the influence factors of family function and coping styles in type 2 diabetes patients.MethodA total of 103 patients in type 2 diabetes were evaluated with Family Assessment Device(FAD),and Coping Style Questionnaire(CSQ).The steps were:testing the reliability and validity of these scales,Issuing the questionnaire face to face,processing the data,adopting the software package of SPSS 12.0 to analysis the data.Results1.The characteristics of family function in type 2 diabetes patientsThe type 2 diabetes had significantly higher PS,CM,RL,AR,BC(2.17±0.33,2.21±0.11, 2.41±0.23,2.45±0.32,2.50±0.64)score than the control group(2.14±0.48,2.09±0.35, 2.33±0.32,2.30±0.36,2.36±0.32).There was significantly different between the two groups(P<0.01),but the AI score was no significantly correlation.The type 2 diabetes had impairment in family function. 2.The characteristics of copying styles in type 2 diabetes patientsThe type 2 diabetes had significantly higher avoidance,remorse,fantasy (0.60±0.17,0.53±0.22,0.64±0.18)score than the control group(0.43±0.13,0.30±0.13,0.45±0.13).There was significantly different between the two groups(P<0.01).But the scores of active coping manner in case group were all significantly higher than those in control group(all P<0.01).The type 2 diabetes Patients had strong ability to solve problem during the treatment,they are easier to produce help-seeking behavior,and actively seek the support when problems arise.On the other hand,in view of the course of disease,heavy burden of disease,weakening of family function is often affected by factors such as the use of retreat,self-reproach,fantasy,rationalization as the main way to cope with.3.The correlativity among family function and coping styles in type 2 diabetes patients.There was a correlation between the family function and the coping styles in type 2 diabetes Patients.There was a significantly active relation between problem-solving, communication,behavior control and solve the problem,seek help,There was a significantly negative relation between problem-solving,communication,behavior control and avoidance,fantasy;There was a significantly active relation between role and rationalization.There was a significantly negative relation between the role and the help;There was a significantly active relation between affective responsiveness and self-reproach,fantasy,avoidance,There was a significantly negative relation between affective responsiveness and help;There was a significantly active relation between affective involvement and rationalization;There was a significantly negative relation between behavior control and the fantasy,avoidance,rationalization.ConclusionThe type 2 diabetes had impairment in family function and coping styles,the physicians should encourage and instruct those poor at family function to take up active coping style so as to manage the disease and then raise their quality of life.
