Objective: To investigate the diagnosis, treatment and clinical features of small cell lung cancer(SCLC) complicating syndrome of inappropriate secretion of antidiuretic hormone(SIADH), Improve the diagnosis and treatment of the disease.Methods: Retrospectively analyzed 3 patients with SCLC complicating SIADH treated in Shandong provincial hospital from June2006 to April2007.Results: All 3patients: male aged 66, male aged 43 and female aged 40 being treated of lung cancer were finally diagnosed as SCLC complicating SIADH. Sodium level was 110~125mmol/L before treatment. After treatment including fluid restriction, chemotherapy and surgery, the sodium level returns to normal.Conclusion: SIADH was always complicated with SCLC. To diagnosis patients with lung tumor-associated SIADH, SCLC should be considered firstly. After treatment including fluid restriction, chemotherapy and surgery, the sodium level returns to normal. SIADH disappears after the excision of the tumor or chemotherapy.
