Objective: To conduct research on the cure of stress urinary incontinence (SUI) and analyze its clinical effect through stimulating acupoints on the sacrum by electro-acupuncture.Methods: This research treats female stress urinary incontinence patients as testers, employing the draw-lots methods to divide 60 female patients into two groups randomly. The group of Electro-Acupuncture Therapy uses electro-acupuncture therapy methods on ShenShu, Huiyang, 30 minutes per time, pause for one day after 6 days' therapy. A period of treatment consists of two weeks. The Western medicine comparative group takes Mmidodrine Mydrochloride(α2-adrenergic agonist), 2.5mg/day, in 3 times, in two continuous weeks. Taking the post-therapy urinary dairy and the remaining urinary volume of bladder at B-Ultrasonic into consideration, the difference between inter-group and within-group as well as pre-therapy and post-therapy is observed, aiming to carry out study on the clinical curative effect of Electro-Acupuncture to SUI.Results: The improvement extent of all indexes of the Electro-Acupuncture Therapy group is apparently superior to those of the Western medicine comparative group. The total effective rat of healthy-recovered and effective of urinary frequency of the Electro-Acupuncture Therapy group is 96.67%, while that of the Western medicine comparative group is 36.67%. Two groups have extremely apparently distinction (p<0.01). The total effective rat of healthy-recovered and effective of urinary incontinence of the Electro-Acupuncture Therapy group is 96.67%, while that of the Western medicine comparative group is 40.00%. Two groups show extremely apparently distinction (p<0.01). The index of the remaining urinary volume of bladder of the Electro-Acupuncture Therapy group distinction compared with the Western medicine comparative group (p<0.01) , and shows extremely apparently distinction compared with pre-therapy (p<0.01). This result shows that acupuncture therapy is superior to orally-taken western medicine therapy. Conclusion: Acupuncture therapy can achieve magnificent results in curing SUI, improved symptom and body characteristics of patients apparently, better than orally-taken western medicine. Electro-Acupuncture Therapy is easy to handle and propagate, have explored a novel way to cure this disease.
