Appraisal Of Shandong Province 20-year EPI Input-Output

According to a cost benefit analysis report of World Development Report of the year 1993, EPI was proved one of the most economic and effective public health interventional measures. Our country started the action of immunization programe in 1978, and then started the EPI activity in 1981. The Shandong Province also started the work followed the national EPI activity, and obtained a remarkable achievement in the past 20 years.After the cost benefit research of measles vaccine related in 1979, the appraisal of planned immunization programme input-output related has not interrupted. From the research of compared planned immunization programme input with its output, to the research of present quite different immunity procedures, the different service patterns and seeking the best service plan; From qualitative research which starts, to present precise quantitative research; From the research of analyzing single vaccine and single disease related which starts, to the present union analysis research of multi-vaccines and multi-diseases; From county, township scope planned immunization programme cost benefit analysis which starts, to present province, city level and even state-level planned immunization program cost benefit analysis; From single technical analysis which starts, to the present multi-technologies of statistics analysis. All the appraisal research of planned immunization program has made a big progress in each level and each domain, also proved the planned immunization programme is an item invested a lot.However, according to the existing literature, we still have not got a whole analysis of Shandong Province planned immunization program work in the past 20 years besides a polio related project. Therefore, in order to fill the research blank about our province planned immunization program input-output analysis, provide a reference for the Shandong Province the eleven^th prevention control plan, we set up the research by Shandong Province CDC, the research group started in March, 2004, carried on a whole appraisal of Shandong Province EPI during 1985 ～ 2004. The research from the social efficiency, the technical benefit and the economic efficiency three aspects synthesizes the result which for 20 year Shandong Province planned immunization program work obtains.Main Founding: First, the Shandong Province planned immunization program input (expense) assumes the gradual growth tendency, also has the different emphasis point according to the different aspect division, and basically clears off the planned immunization program input and the expense direction.
