An Clinical And Theory Study Of The Therapeutic Principle Of Yi Shen Hua Yu On Senile Dementia

Based on my tutor's long-term clinical practice and modern research on TCM, the theory that Shen Xu Xue Yu is the main pathogenesis mechanism of Senile Dementia was put forward. So the therapeutic principle should be Yi Shen Hua Yu. Thus the Kang Nao Ling II Capsule was made. According to the Dementia Diagnosis Standard of DSM-III-R, the Dementia Diagnosis Standard of HDS and the Senile Dementia Diagnosis Standard of the Senile Medical Academy, 43 cases of patients were treated in this research, which were randomly divided into 2 groups,they are Kang Nao Ling II Capsule treating group-the experiment group and Piracetamum treating group-the control group. Total effective rate was 79.17% in the experiment group and 52.63% in the control group. The scores of MMSE, HDS and ADL, the demonstrations of Shen Xu and Xue Yu, the blood rheology and the encephal blood stream were more significantly promoted in the experiment group than those in the control group(p<0.05, p<0.01). Thus the therapeutic principle of Yi Shen Hua Yu is the effective therapeutic principle of Senile Dementia and the Kang Nao Ling II Capsule is the effective agent to Senile Demebtia.
