Physics, based on experiments, is an experimental science in essence. Instructions of experiments in physics focus on teaching fundamental scientific information as well as cultivating basic competence in scientific experiments .The students' various abilities result from the efforts of different teaching activities. Physics experimental teaching has its own characteristics, and is beneficial to cultivate the students' ability of handling things with hands.Graduates of secondary vocational schools are in urgent demand of a satisfactory job, where they manage to apply what they've learned. However, it is a realistic and urgent subject to study how to improve the students' competitiveness of job-hunting. So are the relationship between competitiveness of job-hunting and the aims of secondary vocational schools' education, and the relationship between the aims of secondary vocational schools' education and physics experimental teaching in secondary vocational schools. In China, discussion in the aspect is little and systematic research is even less.With the aim of benefiting the students and enhancing the graduates' competitiveness, the paper closely associates the current situations of physics experimental teaching in secondary vocational schools and absorbs the existing research achievements home and abroad on physics experiments, cultivation of abilities, vocational education and psychology. The paper also connects the social need for vocational students and focuses on the educational functions of physics experimental teaching from double views of society and teaching. Furthermore, the author of the paper conducts teaching experiments to cultivate the students' ability and makes effective evaluation of the experiments.The first chapter of this paper talks about the current situations of the secondary vocational students' abilities and the demands of the job markets; starting from the theories of constructive study and creative education, the second chapter illustrates the basis of teaching phychology as well as the theories of education evaluation; based on the analysis of the demands of the graduates' ability and cultivation aims towards the secondary students majoring in mechanism, the third chapter explains the skills and abilities of handling things with hands; the fourth chapter exhibits the teaching experiments with the aim of cultivating the secondary vocational students' abilities; the fifth chapter makes an effective evaluation of the teaching experiments.From the teaching experiments with the aim of cultivating the secondary vocational students' ability in physics experimental teaching, the author shows it is practical and effective to cultivate the secondary students' ability according to the features of physics experimental teaching.
