The Practice Research On Implementing Inquiry Experimental Teaching To Develop Students’ Ability Of Operation Based On "Electrician Basis" Course In Vocational Schools

On the background of significant demand for skilled talents, China starts to recognize the importance of developing vocational education and cultivating the students’ professional skills and practical ability. However, the present experiment teaching situation in vocational schools cannot meet the requirements of cultivating skilled talents. On the basis of the course named Electrician Base, the practice research is implemented about inquiry experiment teaching to cultivate students’ ability of operation.The case experimental method, the literature method, and the questionnaire survey method are adopted to carry out the research. Some cases from the book named Electrician Base, which is published by Higher Education Publishing House, are selected to implement inquiry experiment teaching. The classes2013E-1and E-2in Longhua Vocational Secondary School in Fuqing are chosen as two objects of study. In this research, class2013E-1is the control class which uses the traditional experimental teaching method, while class E-2is the experimental class which uses inquiry experiment teaching method. The teaching practice lasts for one semester. From the comparison results of learning interests, laboratory capabilities at the beginning and the end of the semester, and the scores of each exam from these two classes, respectively, we conclude:the implementation of inquiry experiment teaching is beneficial to cultivating learning interests, arousing the curiosity, enhancing the students’ ability of operation and innovation ability, and developing good scientific literacy. The interview of students during the research show that most students prefer inquiry experiment teaching mode, which is considered to make their study less burden and more happiness, and make them more love to ask questions and to practice, and more confident. The study results show that the exploratory experimental teaching plays an important role in improving the students’ practical ability in vocational schools, which is suitable for long-term implementation in Vocational School.The study results will promote the smooth implementation of curriculum reform of Electrician Base in vocational secondary schools. It will also inspire the teaching reform for other experiment courses in vocational secondary schools.
