A Study On The Impact Of The Digital Economy On The Quality Of Innovation Output In China

The new round of technological revolution,with the digital economy as its main content,has given rise to a new form of digital economy development,which is conducive to China seizing the innovation opportunities in the new era,achieving a technological overtaking in the digital economy era,optimising the economic development pattern and promoting high-quality development.Exploring the influence mechanism of the digital economy on the quality level of China’s innovation output will help enterprises,universities and other R&D subjects to further improve the efficiency of innovation activities and the quality of innovation output,which is of great significance to the realization of China’s high-quality development in the new era.This thesis first summarises existing research on innovation output quality and analyses it from three perspectives: knowledge,technology and product output.A comprehensive evaluation index system covering four levels of innovation knowledge theory,innovation technology achievement,innovation achievement transformation and final innovation product output is constructed and weighted by the entropy method to arrive at a comprehensive evaluation index of innovation output quality.Through the theoretical analysis of Schumpeter’s innovation theory and quality management theory,a theoretical analysis framework of the direct and indirect impact of the digital economy on the quality of innovation output is constructed.Based on the panel data of 31 provinces and cities in China from 2013 to 2020,regression analysis is conducted,and the relationship and influence mechanism of the digital economy on the level of innovation output quality is tested empirically using the two-way fixed effect model in time and space and the mediating effect model.The findings show that: firstly,the digital economy has a significant positive impact on the quality level of innovation output in China,and the findings remain robust after replacing the explanatory and explained variables.The three sub-indicators of digital infrastructure,digital industry development and digital industry integration within the digital economy can still have a significant positive impact on the quality level of innovation output.Secondly,the broadening,deepening and career creation effects of human capital levels play a mediating role in the digital economy’s impact on the quality of innovation output.Thirdly,the freedom of business environment can indirectly guide the development of digital economy influencing the quality level of innovation output from both the internal market dynamics of innovation agents and the external marketization level.Therefore,it is necessary to pay attention to the construction of digital economy infrastructure,accelerate the internal development of digital economy industries,develop the core industries of the digital economy in depth,and promote the digital transformation of industries in agriculture,industry and services to accelerate industrial integration and innovation;focus on the cultivation of comprehensive digital talents,improve the level of human capital of the workforce,stimulate the innovation vitality of innovation subjects in the market,and create a good innovation culture.
