In the midst of a century of unprecedented change,external uncertainty has changed the pattern of the global industrial chain,especially for export-oriented manufacturing enterprises,the era of flourishing with the advantage of factors of production such as the labour "bonus" is gone.Since 2018,uncertainties such as the US-China trade dispute,the new epidemic,climate change,natural disasters,international relations and other risks have been frequent,making the business environment volatile and unstable,especially for export-oriented manufacturing enterprises.In the face of external uncertainty risks,the only way for enterprises to solve various problems in their business processes is to look for opportunities to avoid risks and shape competitive advantages in the changing environment from a strategic perspective.How is a company’s strategy affected by external uncertainty? How to build a mechanism to cope with external uncertainty has become an important research issue in relation to how enterprises can survive the crisis.Based on this,firstly,through the analysis and collation of past literature,we theoretically deduce the relationship between external uncertainty and corporate strategy;secondly,from the perspective of strategy,we select Company A,which is greatly affected by external uncertainty,as the research object,based on the PEST model,SWOT analysis and NVivo qualitative analysis software,and conduct an in-depth investigation to find out the driving factors,weighting factors and the factors that affect the strategic response of enterprises under external uncertainty.Finally,a strategic response mechanism model is constructed to analyze the evolution of the Chinese export manufacturing industry in the face of uncertainty.Related research shows that:(1)for company A,the external uncertainty brought about by the US-China trade friction and Covid-19 has the most serious negative impact on it.(2)External uncertainty has a main effect on a firm’s strategic response,which determines the firm’s strategic decisions and the firm’s sustainable development.(3)The flexibility of enterprise resources,management perception and other factors determine the strategic responsiveness of an enterprise,which is positively related to the effectiveness of the enterprise’s strategic mechanism.The stronger the strategic responsiveness of the enterprise,the stronger the effectiveness of the strategic response mechanism;the weaker the strategic responsiveness of the enterprise,the weaker the effectiveness of the strategic response mechanism.Management perceptions,which attenuate external uncertainty and strategic responsiveness,are negatively related to strategic responsiveness.Corporate resource flexibility,which reduces the negative relationship between external uncertainty and strategic responsiveness and strategic responsiveness.Strategic motivation to reduce external uncertainty and the negative relationship between strategic response and strategic response mechanism.(4)Constructing an effective strategic response mechanism can help solve the current real-life problems faced by export manufacturing enterprises and is conducive to their sustainable development.The study takes Company A’s strategic management model as a template for analysis,closely combines the current international and domestic situation,and through an in-depth study on the construction of a strategic response mechanism for enterprises under external uncertainty,theory and enterprise management practice are combined to discuss the problems that Chinese export manufacturing enterprises are bound to encounter in the actual operation process,which has certain theoretical reference value and practical operation value for enterprises of the same type,and also provides a reference idea for subsequent related It also provides practical innovation reference ideas for subsequent related studies and provides space for coming to dissect the reasons behind. |
