The Impact Of Global Digital Economy Development Level On Innovation Of Foreign Trade Enterprises

With the rapid iteration of artificial intelligence,big data and other information technology,the digital economy has become an important direction for global economic development.The wave of digital economy has swept in,accelerating the integration of the digital economy with the real economy and creating new economic growth points.Making good use of the digital economy can provide sufficient power guarantee for innovation-driven development of enterprises.This paper matches the Chinese customs database and the database of listed companies,and takes the data of A-share listed companies with foreign trade transactions from 2011-2016 as the sample.Focusing on the impact of the development of the global digital economy on foreign trade enterprises,we construct indicators of the degree of influence of enterprises on the global digital economy and innovatively measure it from the perspective of digital economy spillover in trade transactions,and then study the role of enterprises on innovation after being affected by the global digital economy.The study also explores whether R&D investment,human capital and digitalization level of firms play a moderating role from the perspective of firms’ absorptive capacity.From the results of the study,it is found that: First,the level of development of the global digital economy has a non-negligible role in enterprise innovation,and the key lies in the extent to which enterprises are influenced by the global digital economy,the deeper enterprises are influenced by the global digital economy,the more they can promote innovation development and the more obvious the role of high technology innovation;Second,in terms of impact mechanisms,the extent to which firms are influenced by the global digital economy to promote innovation can be further enhanced by optimizing human capital,increasing R&D investment and improving the digitalization of enterprises;Thirdly,the role of the global digital economy in promoting innovation varies with the type of enterprises,their industries and geographical locations.In the context of the digital economy increasingly empowering enterprise innovation,enterprises should pay attention to the dividends brought by the digital economy,actively integrate into the international market,learn and absorb the most advanced technological knowledge,strive to improve their own absorption capacity,and drive enterprise development with innovation.
