Research On The Impact Of Digital Economy On The Balanced And Full Development Of Provincial Economy

The report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China clearly points out that the main contradiction in current Chinese society is the contradiction between the people’s need for a better life and imbalanced and insufficient development.The 14 th Five Year Plan mentions that "digital services are an important way to meet the needs of people for a better life".How does the digital economy affect the balance and full development of provincial economies? This is the issue that this article focuses on.First of all,on the basis of elaborating on the research background,this paper reviews relevant literature at home and abroad,elaborates on the concepts and theories of digital economy and regional economic full development,and then theoretically analyzes the impact of digital economy on the balance and full development of provincial economy.Secondly,calculate the digital economy development index and regional economic balance development index of 30 provincial administrative regions in China,construct a fixed effects panel regression model,and empirically analyze the impact of the digital economy on the balanced development of provincial economy.The results show that the digital economy shows a significant positive impact on the balanced development of provincial economy.Thirdly,based on the calculation of the regional economic full development index of30 provincial-level administrative regions in China,a model of the impact of digital economy on the full development of provincial-level economy is constructed from three dimensions of the digital economy.The regression results of the model indicate that: firstly,different dimensions of digital economy index have a significant promoting effect on the full development of provincial-level economy;Secondly,there is heterogeneity in the impact of different dimensions of the digital economy index on the full development of the provincial economy.The digital infrastructure,technological innovation level,and industrial development level in the eastern region can significantly promote the full development of the local economy,while the level of digital technology innovation and digital industry development in the central region can significantly promote the full development of the local economy,The development of digital industries in the western region can significantly promote the full development of the local economy;Thirdly,there is a threshold effect in the process of promoting the full development of the provincial economy through the digital economy.The model with the level of digital technology innovation as the threshold variable has a single threshold effect,the model with the level of digital industry development as the threshold variable has a double threshold effect,and the model with the level of digital infrastructure construction as the threshold variable does not have a threshold effect.Finally,based on the theoretical analysis and empirical regression results mentioned earlier,some policy recommendations for developing the digital economy to promote the balance and full development of the provincial economy are proposed.
