In recent years,China’s trade in goods has continued to develop at a rapid pace, and has maintained the first position in the world for six consecutive years.Trade,as an important way to promote China’s economic growth,is highly valued by the government. In January 2022,the General Office of the State Council issued the "Opinions on Promoting the Integrated Development of Domestic and Foreign Trade",put forward fifteen measures to promote the integrated development of domestic and foreign trade, including the construction of logistics."Opinions" clearly proposed to strengthen the construction of international air cargo capacity, enhance the competitiveness of international shipping, accelerate the facilitation of international road transport, etc.,in order to reduce the cost of foreign trade commodity circulation and promote goods efficiently reach the international market. Therefore, this paper studies the relationship between the level of international logistics and trade in goods, which is of practical significance to enhance the development of China’s trade in goods and thus promote economic growth.Firstly, this paper compares the relevant literature in terms of international logistics and the impact of logistics on trade.Secondly, the current situation of goods trade between China and its major goods trading partners is analyzed, and the Logistics Performance Index released by the World Bank is selected as an indicator to measure the level of international logistics development of each country and analyze the current situation.Again, based on theories such as transaction cost theory, value chain theory and logistics industry division of labor, the influence mechanism of international logistics development level on China’s goods trade is analyzed, and research hypotheses are proposed. After that, the specific impact of the level of international logistics development on China’s goods trade is empirically analyzed using the extended trade gravity model based on the panel data of China and major goods trading partners from 2007-2018.The endogeneity and robustness of the model are tested on the basis of regression analysis, and finally heterogeneity analysis is conducted based on the income level of trading partners and the type of goods grouped for trade. Finally, based on the results of the previous analysis, policy recommendations to promote the development of China’s trade in goods are proposed and research outlook is conducted. After the research, this paper draws the following conclusions:(1)The improvement of international logistics development level of trading partner countries plays a significant role in promoting China’s trade in goods.(2)Among the logistics performance index subdivision indicators, the three indicators of logistics infrastructure quality, customs clearance efficiency and international transportation convenience of trading countries have the most significant impact on China’s trade in goods.(3)Grouping by income level of trading partner countries for heterogeneity analysis, the results show that the improvement of logistics level in the upper middleincome countries has a greater promotion effect on the trade of goods.(4)Distinguish different types of goods traded for regression analysis, the results show that the improvement of logistics development level in trading partner countries has a greater impact on the trade of aquatic products.
