With the development of the market economy and the progress of the global economy,the hotel industry is not solely focused on the operation of accommodation,catering and the provision of services anymore,but has shifted to ‘intellectual management’.However,no matter how the industry evolves and develops,its essence as a labor-intensive industry is difficult to change.The hotel industry is characterized by high demand for personnel and high requirements,which determines that the human resource is an important business activity in the hotel industry,and recruitment is the main way to obtain talents.A perfect recruitment system can not only enable the hotel to obtain high-quality human resources,but also enable the hotel human resources management to achieve sound development.As an old brand starred hotel,the DC Hotel has perfect and complete hardware facilities.However,it has faced a serious staff turnover,insufficient talent reserve and other operational crises in recent years,which have seriously affected the hotel occupancy rate and the increase of the turnover.Therefore,optimizing the recruitment system so that it can obtain quality human resources through recruitment is an urgent task for the DC hotel.By analyzing the problems and reasons of the current recruitment system of DC hotel,this paper proposes the optimization way of DC hotel staff recruitment system based on the competency model.The research believes that the current recruitment system of DC hotel has the following problems: first,the recruitment planning and process design is unreasonable;second,the description of job conditions is not clear;third,there is no key recruitment channel;fourth,the recruitment interview process is unreasonable;fifth,the recruitment team is not professional.The main reasons for these problems are the hotel managers’ cognitive errors on the recruitment work,the hotel lack of perfect salary system,the lack of long-term human resources plan,and the inaccurate positioning of the applicants.The research believes that the competency model can clearly locate the recruitment target of DC hotel,and contribute to the development of DC hotel’s future reserve cadre training,comprehensive talent ability improvement,training and improvement plan and other aspects.Therefore,the research of expert method,interview method and questionnaire survey method were used to extract the elements of competency model and construct the competency model of DC hotel staff recruitment.At the same time,the recruitment system of DC hotel is optimized from the aspects of optimizing the recruitment planning and process,recruitment position information,recruitment channels,recruitment interview mode and recruitment team construction,which lays a good theoretical foundation for the implementation of the recruitment system of DC hotel in the later stage,and provides an effective optimization way.This article helps the DC Hotel managers to discover the problems and causes of its recruitment system by sorting out and analyzing the existing shortcomings of DC Hotel’s recruitment work and proposing scientific optimization strategies on the basis of relevant theories,consequently adjust the original recruitment strategy and direction timely,improve the quality and level of staff recruitment and increase the business income radically.Meanwhile,this paper can promote the DC Hotel to improve its human resource planning,establish a sound recruitment system and process,and improve the overall management level of the hotel,and also hope to provide references for other hotels in the same industry.
