In today’s accelerating pace of economic globalization,human capital has played a very important role in the development process of enterprises,and more and more managers realize that employees are an important source of competitive advantage for enterprises.How to attract key talents to join the team,retain core talents to create value,stimulate personal potential and output performance,and align employees’ personal goals with the strategic goals of the organization,has become the key to sustainable development of enterprises.The performance appraisal system is an important system of enterprise talent management.To a certain extent,the efficiency of enterprise performance management determines the operational efficiency of enterprises,and the operational efficiency of enterprises will affect the future fate of enterprises.This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the current state of performance management in functional departments of S Group Company by taking it as the research subject.Through interviews with key figures,questionnaire surveys and data statistics,the content of expectation theory is used to comprehensively analyze the problems arising in the current performance management plan of S Group Company,combined with the author’s working experience in S Group Company and the first-hand information and deep experience of participating in the whole process of designing the company’s performance appraisal,and try to propose a functional department performance management optimization plan for S Group Company.The performance management optimization plan of the functional department of S Group first sorted out all job responsibilities,clarified the job responsibilities according to the job description,clarified the assessment form according to the job responsibilities,formulated reward and punishment methods according to the assessment results,and detailed the reward and punishment measures covering salary,promotion,career development,and employee honor to meet the needs of different employees according to the needs of employees.The work process of each link such as performance incentive and improvement is defined,forming a relatively complete performance management cycle.Through the optimization of the performance management plan of the functional departments of S Group,the problems existing in the performance management of S Group can be solved,and practical implementation plans can be formulated to create a scientific and effective performance management system.At the same time,after its own attempts,failures and then optimization,S Group gradually improves the performance management plan of functional departments in continuous adjustment,which provides a good reference value for the establishment of the performance management system of small and medium-sized enterprises in China.Although this paper has made a strong targeted research around the functional departments of S Group Company,because my academic level is limited,my understanding of some theories is still insufficient,resulting in the theory will be deficient in application in practice,and can not carry out deeper research and analysis,so the performance management program of S Group designed by the author shows only a preliminary design that has not been tested in practice,there may be defects,and it is necessary to find problems in practice and then improve and optimize in time.
