With the breakthrough in the research of major diseases,the change of human health concept and the acceleration of population aging,the biomedical industry has developed rapidly and has become the strategic focus of the economic and social development of many countries.It is one of the most recognized high-tech industries with broad development prospects in the world in the 21 st century.Especially in the context of the global spread of COVID-19,the importance of biomedicine has been highlighted.Based on this,this paper takes the biomedical industry in Shandong Province as the research object.First of all,it sorts out the development background and overall business situation of the biomedical industry in Shandong Province.At the same time,it sorts out the main agglomeration areas of the biomedical industry in Shandong Province,and analyzes the foundation and advantages of the agglomeration development of Secondly,the mechanism of the agglomeration economic growth effect of the pharmaceutical industry is deeply analyzed from the perspective of advantages and effect mechanisms.Finally,the static and dynamic measurement of the agglomeration level of the biomedical industry in Shandong Province is carried out,and the economic growth effect of the biomedical industry agglomeration in Shandong Province is empirically analyzed by using the spatial Dubin model.Through the analysis,it is concluded that:(1)Human capital factors,capital factors,technical factors and other factors all affect the agglomeration and development of the biomedical industry.Biomedical industry agglomeration has cost advantages,innovation advantages,competitive advantages and economies of scale.At the same time,biopharmaceutical industry agglomeration ultimately promotes regional economic growth through the combination of scale effect,agglomeration effect,synergy effect,spillover effect and radiation effect.(2)There are a number of biomedical industry clusters in Shandong Province.Jinan,Qingdao and Yantai are the largest.They have the foundation and advantages of marine drug development and the advantages of drug innovation platform development.However,there are also insufficient industrial-scale small leading enterprises,weak product competitiveness,weak research and development capabilities,and difficult talent introduction.Problems such as enterprise financing difficulties.(3)On the whole,the development of the biomedical industry in Shandong Province is at the forefront of the country.In recent years,it has grown rapidly and is in the stage of accelerated agglomeration.From the regional level,the development of biomedical agglomeration in various cities in Shandong Province is uneven,and the gap between cities is large,and there are relatively.(4)The agglomeration of the biomedical industry in Shandong Province has a significant effect on local economic growth and has a significant spillover effect on neighboring areas,and the direct effect is greater than the indirect effect.At the same time,the level of human capital,the level of capital investment,the level of technology,the level of government intervention,the level of economic opening up and other variables all have a significant direct effect on economic growth.
