In the current competitive and complex market environment, the quality and safety of regional branded agricultural products have become unstable, such as the uneven quality of regional products and the frequent occurrence of "quality gate",which have aroused strong concern from enterprises, the government, the public and other stakeholders. In the practice of regional branded agricultural products, all quality activities must first be based on quality and safety in order to operate properly. Therefore, the quality and safety of regional branded agricultural products have become one of the most important practical issues in the development of regional branded agricultural quality. However, the internal and external factors and environment of the quality of regional branded agricultural products will affect the entire quality system of regional branded agricultural products. In order to sustain the internal and external development of the whole quality system,it is necessary to sort out the factors that affect the system, identify how these factors affect the formation of the system, and propose strategies for improvement.Based on complex adaptive systems theory, this study focuses on the theme of "Influencing factors for the formation of regional brand agricultural product quality ecosystem".Firstly, defining the concept of regional branded agricultural quality ecosystems from the perspective of strategic management contexts by combining the concepts of quality systems and ecosystems.Secondly, three typical cases of regional branded agricultural products are selected and analysed using the grounded theory approach to analyse the factors influencing the formation and evolution of regional branded agricultural quality ecosystems. The main conclusions of the study are as follows.(1)In a strategic management context, the regional branded agricultural quality ecosystem can be defined as a complex systemic consortium of many heterogeneous autonomous subjects, such as governments, enterprises and industry associations, etc. They are interdependent, compete and cooperate, interact and share quality infrastructure, and co-evolve around a core business organisation to achieve the systemic value proposition of ’quality’.(2)By applying the standardized programmatic grounded theory method, the data of regional brand agricultural products were coded and analyzed, and the factors influencing the formation of regional brand agricultural products quality ecosystem were explored and developed:genetic robustness, subject diversity, quality differences, quality collaborative management, resource integration and complex adaptation.(3)Based on the theory of complex adaptive system,it is believed that: the subject of regional brand agricultural quality ecosystem has complexity;the regional brand agricultural quality ecosystem has self-adaptation and the emergent positive effect of the regional brand agricultural quality ecosystem.Through the above-mentioned research,it can enable relevant quality subjects to better understand the essence of regional brand agricultural products quality system safety management and actively invest in the construction of regional brand agricultural products quality safety. And it can provide systematic new ideas for the government to correctly plan the strategy of regional brand agricultural products quality safety. It has important practical significance for maintaining the healthy and sustainable development of the quality ecosystem. At the same time,it further expands the scope of research on regional branded agricultural products quality ecosystem and complements the theoretical research on regional branded agricultural products quality ecosystem.
