Research On The Factors Affecting Corn Price Fluctuations And Policy Optimization In Shandong Provinc

Food security is related to national economic security and social stability,corn as China’s main food crop,China’s 2023 Central Document No.1 mentioned to implement corn yield improvement project,gradually expand the scope of corn full cost insurance and planting income insurance implementation scope,etc.,to improve China’s corn yield area,protect farmers’ grain income,promote the sustainable development of corn industry and maintain national food security is of great significance.Therefore,the study of maize price fluctuations and their influencing factors is of great significance to promote farmers’ income and maintain food security.Taking Shandong Province as an example,this paper defines the concepts of corn price fluctuation and corn price control policy,and expounds the relevant theories such as economic fluctuation theory,equilibrium price theory and value law.On the basis of analyzing the current situation of maize production and maize price control policies in Shandong Province,the H-P filter method was used to analyze the characteristics of maize price fluctuations.From the perspectives of internal and external factors,the influencing factors that may affect the price fluctuation of maize were described and analyzed,and multiple linear regression analysis methods were used to support the influence of the above factors on the price fluctuation of maize.Finally,suggestions for policy optimization to stabilize maize prices are proposed.The research conclusions of this paper are as follows: First,the fluctuation of corn prices in Shandong Province has the following fluctuation characteristics:(1)the long-term trend is to rise first and then fall;(2)Corn price fluctuations show cyclical characteristics.Second,the most significant factors affecting maize prices in Shandong Province are the affected area,international maize prices and wheat prices.In order to stabilize the price fluctuation of maize,this study puts forward the following policy optimization suggestions:first,increase maize production capacity and promote the healthy and sustainable development of maize industry;Second,optimize the disaster prevention and mitigation monitoring and emergency response system;Third,improve the corn price monitoring and early warning platform and strengthen the monitoring of the international market.
