Evaluation And Promotion Of Tourism Conpetitiveness Of Guangxi Coastal Cities

Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,the proposal of the "maritime power strategy" and the promotion of the "the Belt and Road" construction have made major coastal cities begin to attach importance to the development of marine industry.Marine tourism is an important part of the marine industry.Coastal cities are the main destinations for tourism,and their tourism development has broad prospects.In response to the weak tourism competitiveness of coastal cities in Guangxi,based on existing tourism resources,this paper analyzed the current tourism development status as well as the basic tourism resources and problems in development of Beihai,Fangchenggang,and Qinzhou.An evaluation index system of 23 indicators was constructed in four aspects: tourism resource support,environmental conditions,tourism supporting services,and tourism development capacity.The weight was determined by entropy method,the improved catastrophe progression method was used to calculate the mutation membership value and conduct a comprehensive evaluation,compare and analyze the competitiveness of coastal cities such as Beihai,Fangchenggang,Qinzhou,Qingdao,Dalian,Sanya,Xiamen,Shenzhen,and Zhoushan.The research results showed that the tourism competitiveness of Beihai ranked high among all cities,while the tourism competitiveness of Fangchenggang and Qinzhou ranked last.Beihai has performed well in terms of tourism resource support and environmental conditions,while Fangchenggang and Qinzhou have significantly lagged behind other cities in tourism competitiveness.All three cities have problems such as inadequate development of tourism resources,homogenization of tourism products,and insufficient coastal tourism supporting facilities.Overall,the tourism competitiveness level of coastal cities in Guangxi was relatively weak.In order to enhance the tourism competitiveness level of Beihai,Fangchenggang,and Qinzhou,suggestions had been proposed,such as sustain development of tourism resources,emphasis on regional coordinated development,and improvement of tourism supporting facilities.This has reference significance for accelerating the high-quality development of urban tourism in Guangxi,building strong cultural tourism area,and becoming a world-class tourism destination.
