Based On Gray System Theory The Shandong Province Coastal Tourism Industry Competitiveness Study

Abstract/Summary:
With the arrival of the age of the sea, coastal tourism development attract people’sattention, coastal tourism industry also gradually becomes the most important part of theworld tourism. Seaside tourism industry competitiveness is the standard which measured thestrength of coastal tourism. At the same time, China can only be regarded as tourist destination,rather than travel power in the world’s tourism industry. However, China does have marinetourism resources which the travel power can not match. Therefore, before we become travelpower, we must solve the problem how to enhance the competitiveness of Chinese coastaltourism industry.Shandong Province is rich in marine tourism resources, in recent years, coastal tourismindustry and their competitiveness is developing rapidly in the overall planning that buildingthe blue Shandong peninsula ocean economy area. On the basis of the academic literature ofdomestic and international competitiveness of the coastal tourism industry, this paper usescompetitive theory, gray system theory, theories of industrial economics and innovativelyselects the seven coastal cities of Shandong Province as a research object, studies the sevencoastal cities of the tourism industry in-depth and learns from experience in tourismdevelopment of coastal tourism at home and abroad advanced cities, gives the relevant policyrecommendations from a single factor and the overall. First of all, this paper systematicintroduced Shandong Province coastal city: Qingdao, Dongying, Weifang, Weihai, Rizhao,Binzhou ’s geography. Then, according to Porter diamond model of competitive described themain factors affecting competitiveness, the paper systematic introduce the coastal city of7tourist resources, human resources, corporate resources, transportation and environmentalresources of the development status, on this basis, select the Marina7City tourism revenues torepresent the coastal tourism industry competitiveness as a reference series, tourist arrivals and domestic visitors, the per capita disposable income, accommodation and catering industryturnover, accommodation and catering industry practitioners and the number of passengers asa comparison series, from2005to2010for the time period, using the gray correlation analysismethod for quantitative of coastal Shandong Province7city tourism competitiveness wereanalyzed in detail. The results show that: accommodation and catering industry turnover, thenumber of tourists and domestic visitors to coastal tourism has a major impact on industrialcompetitiveness. While the per capita disposable income, passenger traffic, accommodationand catering industry turnover and number of employees less than in the gray correlationindex compared to the previous accommodation and catering industry turnover, the number oftourists and domestic visitors, but still higher than0.5on the whole the standard line. Thissuggesting that the per capita disposable income, passenger traffic, accommodation andcatering industry turnover and number of employees is also an important factor which affectthe competitiveness of the coastal tourism industry.Finally, according to the quantitative analysis of each factor which influence thecompetitiveness of coastal tourism industry, the paper obtain the effort of the impact of eachinfluence factor and use competition with Porter’s diamond model to draw the appropriatecountermeasures about eight influence factors.
