| The issue of food security is a matter of national transport and people’s livelihood,and the implementation of "storing food for the people" will be in place to better alleviate the current tension in food security.The middle reaches of the Yellow River region has been China’s agricultural production base since ancient times,but also the production base of wheat,corn and other commodity grains.Farmers’ grain storage is an indispensable part of China’s grain reserve system and plays an important role in maintaining stable market grain prices and safeguarding farmers’ basic economic returns.However,along with the reform and opening up,the marketization process accelerated,the current food price fluctuation tended to stabilize,and farmers attached less and less importance to grain storage,and the enthusiasm of grain storage continued to decrease,resulting in the phenomenon of increasing reliance on the market to supply grain.Therefore,it is crucial to construct a scientific and reasonable grain storage system for farmers by combining the current situation of grain production of farmers in the middle reaches of the Yellow River region and the characteristic development trend of farmers’ grain storage behavior.In this study,the middle reaches of the Yellow River in northern Shaanxi and the Guanzhong Plain were used as the scope.In the main grain-producing areas selected Zizhou County,Dingbian County,Zhidan County,Wuqi County,Fubeng County,Pucheng County,Wugong County,Sanyuan County and other 8 counties 292 farm households as the object of the questionnaire survey,the results show that farmers in the main grain-producing areas in the middle reaches of the Yellow River mostly use wheat and its processed products as their main grain storage species In terms of the quantity of grain storage,farmers in northern Shaanxi are significantly less than those in Guanzhong;most farmers in the middle reaches of the Yellow River choose woven bags as their storage facilities;in terms of storage time,farmers in northern Shaanxi generally choose to store grain for less than a year,while most in Guanzhong choose to store grain for more than a year,and there is a habit of storing grain for many years;Based on the data obtained from the research questionnaire,the research indicators were identified through interviews with experts in the field of grain storage,and the corresponding binary regression equation model was constructed.The results showed that the number of people engaged in grain cultivation and production,the total grain crop yield,and the grain loss rate in the process of grain storage had significant effects on the enthusiasm of farmers in the middle reaches of the Yellow River for grain storage.The study concluded that: the mobilization of farmers in the middle reaches of the Yellow River should be motivated to store grain to enhance farmers’ awareness of grain storage,policy support,and technical support.Through a variety of publicity channels and activities to the role of grain storage and the significance of the necessity of publicity,to enhance farmers’ awareness of grain storage;by increasing the strength of specific grain storage support policies such as grain storage facilities to mobilize farmers to store grain enthusiasm,and then through the development of special loan funds for farmers to store grain and grain storage insurance business,to help farmers to resist the risk of grain storage,reduce the potential threat,to protect the basic income of grain storage farmers;increase the role of technical support,to Research and development of new grain products,broaden grain reprocessing channels,encourage farmers to increase the amount of grain storage,improve farmers’ grain storage facilities,carry out scientific grain storage management knowledge lectures,etc.,reduce the cost of farmers in the process of grain storage,enhance farmers’ enthusiasm for grain storage,and ultimately form a long-term mechanism for farmers to store grain scientifically. |
