| China is the world’s oldest tea-growing country and the world’s largest tea producer and exporter.Tea export trade has a long history and is one of the important export agricultural products of the "Ancient Silk Road".Since the reform and opening up,China’s tea export trade has grown significantly, especially under the promotion of the "Belt and Road" policy, which has brought unprecedented development opportunities to China’s tea exports, and the international tea market has been continuously expanded, forming a trade network pattern of interrelated and intertwined. However,in the context of the increasingly complex international trade environment, how to consolidate traditional markets, explore emerging markets, and get out of trade difficulties is a topic worth studying.Based on the perspective of social network, this thesis discusses the formation and evolution of China’s tea export trade pattern, which has important theoretical and practical significance for China to accurately grasp the characteristics and changing trends of tea trade in the world, effectively use the two markets, and expand the external circulation.Guided by social network theory, international trade theory and gradient transfer theory, this thesis focuses on the pattern of China’s tea export trade and its evolution by means of social network analysis and geographic information system.Firstly,on the basis of the existing research, the relevant concepts such as social network,intra-industry trade, and trade pattern involved in this study are defined, and then the data of 50 major tea-exporting countries in the UN Comtrade database from 1993 to 2021 are analyzed using social network theory and Ucinet analysis tools. On this basis,Arc Gis further simulates the evolution law of tea export trade to analyze the formation of China’s tea export trade pattern.Through research, this thesis finds that the network density, node outdegree and node strength of the world’s major tea-exporting countries increased significantly from 1993 to2021,and this period coincided with the process of increasing China’s marketization and opening up,especially after China’s "Belt and Road" initiative. The results of the calculation of the agglomeration and nuclear density of the tea export network show that the tea export trade in the world has undergone a process of first concentration and then dispersion.Through the analysis of tea export national network associations,it is found that the number of tea export network communities has increased from 6 to 8,indicating that due to the influence of geographical location, cultural background, trade habits and other factors, each node has gradually formed a stable trade community. The analysis of the flow map of the world’s major tea exporting countries shows that the world tea export trade pattern has undergone the transformation of "two parts of the world" to "three legs",and China’s tea export trade pattern presents a new situation of stabilizing traditional markets and expanding emerging markets, but it still faces many uncertainties and challenges.Based on this, this thesis believes that it is necessary to continue to deepen opening up to the outside world and expand the international market space of Chinese tea with the help of the promotion of the "Belt and Road" and "domestic and international dual circulation" policies; With tea culture as the carrier, advocate China’s tea consumption, build an international network of China’s tea export trade, and form a network pattern of mutual benefit and positive integration. |
