Analysis Of Influencing Factors Of Chinese Avocado Import Trade And Countermeasures

In recent years,with the gradual expansion of China’s opening to the outside world,cross-border e-commerce of fresh agricultural products has flourished in the international trade of agricultural products.The living standard of Chinese residents has been greatly improved,and the national preference for diet is also changing imperceptibly.Residents’ awareness of nutrition and health awareness has been generally improved,the quality of residents’ diet has been significantly improved,the intake of fruits and vegetables has increased year by year,and fruit has become an indispensable part of the public diet structure.Among many imported fruits,avocado has won the favor of many consumers with its high nutritional value and special texture and taste.With the rapid development of domestic light food industry,avocado consumption has gradually increased.China’s avocado planting industry is in the rising stage of development.In order to understand the development prospect of China’s avocado market and analyze the trade relationship between China and various avocado exporting countries,this paper summarizes the main factors affecting China’s avocado import by analyzing the current situation of global and Chinese avocado import trade,combined with index analysis and empirical analysis,and forecasts the domestic avocado consumption trend.Countermeasures and suggestions are put forward.Based on the above research background,this paper takes China’s avocado import as the research object,combines the development status of avocado international trade and trade index analysis,and explores the development trend of China’s avocado import trade.This paper conducts an empirical analysis of the trade volume between China and13 avocado exporting countries,including Mexico,Peru,Chile,the United States,Brazil,the Philippines,Colombia,Kenya,New Zealand,Myanmar,Thailand,Indonesia and Vietnam,based on the perspective of the trade gravity model,and analyzes the main influencing factors of China’s avocado imports through the trade gravity model.Through empirical analysis,it can be seen that the increase of per capita disposable income and per capita consumption of dried fresh melons and fruits in China’s urban population plays a significant positive role in promoting China’s avocado import volume.The increase in import tariffs on avocados in China will curb avocado imports.The study concluded that the status quo of avocado import source countries will remain concentrated for a long time,domestic avocados are not competitive in trade,tariff reduction plays a significant role in promoting avocado imports,rising income level and dietary structure adjustment further promote avocado imports.Finally,according to the analysis results,the author puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions such as making good use of avocado import trade tools,promoting domestic avocado planting innovation,maintaining a more open import strategy,further optimizing national diet structure,promoting avocado planting exchanges and cooperation,and improving fresh logistics and ripening facilities.
