Research On The Relationship Between Dual Innovation Capability,Business Model Innovation,and Growth Of Technological Small And Medium Sized Enterprises

At the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,it was emphasized to create a favorable environment for the growth of technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises.In the new round of technological and industrial revolutions,the sustained growth of technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises has become the key to maintaining economic vitality in China.With the intensification of market competition and the complex and ever-changing environmental situation,technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises are facing enormous survival and growth challenges,and the issue of growth urgently needs to be further explored.Accelerating technological innovation is the only way to achieve highquality development.A single innovation capability can no longer meet innovation needs,and dual innovation capability has become the key to mastering the initiative of development.At the same time,business model innovation also plays a transformative role,promoting the transformation of innovative achievements and leapfrog growth of enterprises.Based on this,this article explores the relationship between dual innovation capability,business model innovation,growth,and environmental uncertainty,and provides sufficient argumentation.Firstly,by reviewing relevant literature both domestically and internationally,we have gained a preliminary understanding of the connotation,dimensionality,and relationships between the key variables involved in this article.In order to clarify the pathways of action between variables,this study divides dual innovation capability into exploratory innovation capability and exploitative innovation capability,and divides business model innovation from two dimensions:novelty and efficiency;Secondly,based on the analysis of relevant theories and existing research,this study explores the impact of dual innovation capability on growth from the perspective of business model innovation,and considers the moderating effect of environmental uncertainty as a situational factor.Sixteen research hypotheses are proposed and a conceptual model is constructed;Thirdly,combined with the actual situation and maturity scale of technology-based SMEs,a large-scale questionnaire survey was carried out and 354 valid questionnaires were collected for empirical analysis.The action path between variables was tested through structural equation model,the mesomeric effect was tested by Bootstrap method,and the moderating effect was tested by regression analysis.Fourteen of the 16 hypotheses proposed in this study were verified;Finally,the empirical results indicate that:(1)dual innovation capability,whether exploratory or exploitative,contributes to the improvement of enterprise growth;(2)exploratory innovation capability is more suitable for innovative business model innovation,while exploitative innovation capability is more matched with efficient business model innovation;(3)efficient business model innovation plays a partial mediating role in the process of dual innovation capability affecting growth,Innovative business models only play a mediating role between exploratory innovation capability and growth.(4)Environmental uncertainty plays a positive moderating effect between efficient business model innovation and growth,while the moderating effect between innovative business models and growth is not significant.Based on the empirical results,the research conclusion of this article is drawn,providing beneficial inspiration for technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises to implement business model innovation and better and faster enhance their growth.The research inspiration of this article mainly has two aspects:on the one hand,in the process of achieving high-quality development for technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises,it is necessary to invest certain resources to cultivate dual innovation capabilities,based on current development while planning for the future,and should also consider business model innovation;On the other hand,business model innovation promotes the smooth transformation of innovative achievements,greatly improving innovation returns,and playing a bridging role between dual innovation capability and growth.Meanwhile,business model innovation is a positive measure to address environmental uncertainty,laying a solid foundation for the growth and development of enterprises.
