The outbreak of COVID-19 in early 2020 has had a profound negative impact on production,life and economic development.Small and medium-sized enterprises are relatively weak in the face of external emergencies,they are forced by the pandemic to live in a highly unstable and fluctuating environment.Considering the rapid development of China’s market and division of labor system,small and medium-sized enterprises have become an important part of China’s national economy.Therefore,how to do a good job in the resumption of production and work of small and medium-sized enterprises and stabilize this most extensive market entity is particularly important.This thesis refers to the definition of "confidence" in psychology,and chooses to start from the entrepreneur’s confidence.Entrepreneur confidence is a process of subjective evaluation,which will affect the entrepreneur’s willingness to act and decision-making,thereby changing the entrepreneur’s real action and action performance.Ultimately affect macroeconomic conditions and development trend of the industry.The SMEs in this thesis are determined according to the classification standards of the National Bureau of Statistics.Data are collected from entrepreneurs of SMEs by questionnaires,analyzed by SPSS and AMOS software.The research model is verified by structural equation modeling(SEM)method.On this basis,Bootstrap analysis was used to verify whether the mediation effect existed in the model.The results of the thesis found that:(1)both business judgment and business expectations have positive and significant impact on entrepreneur confidence,and the pressure on operating costs is the most pressing;(2)business difficulties have a negative and significant impact on entrepreneur confidence,the labor shortage has the biggest impact;(3)The scale of the enterprise has an impact on entrepreneur confidence,and the situation of enterprises in the tertiary industry is more serious under the epidemic;(4)The impact of business expectations and business difficulties on entrepreneur confidence plays a chain intermediary role.Boosting the entrepreneur confidence under the impact of the epidemic is very important for resuming production and work as soon as possible after the epidemic.Combined with the research conclusions of this thesis,to rebuild entrepreneur confidence,put forward corresponding measures from the aspects of solving the expenditure pressure of small and medium-sized enterprises,promoting the citizenization of floating population,applying digital technology,and improving the strength of information services,so as to fundamentally boost the enterprises of small and medium-sized enterprises,and at the end makes an outlook for follow-up research.This thesis provides some reference suggestions for small and mediumsized enterprises to boost entrepreneur confidence in the context of the normalization of the epidemic.
