Research On The Impact Of The Integration Of Productive Services And Manufacturing On The Complexity Of China’s Export Technology

Since the reform and opening up,China’s manufacturing industry has made breakthrough progress in the development of foreign trade relying on various low-end factors,and the scale of exports has continued to increase.However,China’s export technology complexity is not high,and currently it is also affected by rising labor costs,increased uncertainty in external demand,and other adverse conditions.Therefore,improving the export technology complexity,thereby improving the status of China’s manufacturing industry in the global value chain,is the key to changing the current situation of China’s manufacturing industry,and is also an important step in achieving China’s modernization process.As a knowledge intensive intermediate input,productive services and manufacturing industries penetrate each other,making the boundary between the two increasingly blurred and ultimately integrated.The integrated development of producer services and manufacturing has become an important trend in global economic growth and modern industrial development today.It can improve the export technical complexity of the manufacturing industry,thereby easing the bottleneck in the development of China’s manufacturing industry,which will strongly promote high-quality development of China’s economy.Therefore,through reviewing and sorting out the existing research results,this article discusses the integration and development of producer services and manufacturing industries,as well as the current situation of China’s export technology complexity,and studies the mechanism of the integration and development of producer services and manufacturing industries on China’s export technology complexity.Taking 31 provinces and regions of China in 2007-2019 as a sample,this article establishes an indicator system for the comprehensive development level of producer services and manufacturing industries,Using the coupling coordination degree to measure the degree of integration and development of the two industries,a regression model is established to empirically study the impact of the integration and development of producer services and manufacturing industries on China’s export technology complexity.The research results show that the integrated development of producer services and manufacturing industries has a significant promoting effect on China’s export technological complexity,which is mainly achieved through technological innovation and human capital effects.At the same time,the integration and development of producer services and manufacturing industries have heterogeneity in the complexity of China’s export technology.The promotion role of the western region on the complexity of export technology is higher than that of the eastern and central regions.Moreover,with the increase in the complexity of China’s export technology,the impact of the integration and development of producer services and manufacturing industries on the complexity of China’s export technology first increases and then decreases.Based on the above conclusions,this paper proposes policy recommendations to promote the upgrading of China’s export technology complexity.
