| Service trade plays an important role in the production of international division of labor.The focus of international trade has gradually shifted from goods to services.Information technology,intellectual property rights,cloud computing,etc.promote service trade to the upstream industries of the global value chain,and services have become the leading link of the global value chain.A country should seize service trade and constantly improve its competitiveness.While the pattern of international trade is undergoing profound changes,international economic and trade rules are also improving and developing rapidly.In order to gain more benefits in the international market,countries have carried out regional economic integration cooperation in succession,and integrated into the rapidly changing world by signing regional service trade clauses.In recent years,regional agreements on trade in services have shown the characteristics of broad topics,large coverage areas and high standards of rules.The world economy is a connected whole.Global value chain links R&D,production and sales,forming a model of global production and global sales.Therefore,from the perspective of global value chain,this paper studies the impact of the depth of regional service trade agreements on the competitiveness of service trade,by using the value added data of global trade that can better reflect the real situation of trade,and then provides ideas for China and improve her competitiveness of service trade.Firstly,this paper analyzes the current situation of the development of regional trade agreements,summarizes the characteristics of the current regional trade agreements in terms of quantity,content and coverage areas,and introduces the process of China’s regional service trade agreements.Secondly,it analyzes the influencing factors of service trade competitiveness from the perspective of global value chain and the impact of regional service trade agreements,further explaining the mechanism of action between them.Then,this paper uses 10122 samples from Value Chain42 countries from 2000 to 2014,takes the depth of regional service trade agreements as the explanatory variable,uses the global value chain participation index and the global value chain status index as indicators to measure the competitiveness of service trade,and also adds the adjustment mechanism of national governance level for in-depth discussion.The research results show that the depth of regional service trade agreements has a significant positive correlation with the global value chain participation index and position index,and the level of national governance is positively regulating the global value chain position index.Then,through the analysis of heterogeneity,it is proved that the impact between the two exists in the heterogeneity of countries and industries.The depth of regional service trade agreements has a greater impact on the competitiveness of developing countries,and has a greater impact on productive services and high-tech services.Finally,according to China’s national conditions,this paper puts forward the following policy recommendations: First,we should use the development of emerging service industries to promote the optimization and upgrading of the structure of service trade;Second,we should build a free trade network and give full play to the radiating and driving functions of service trade;Third,we should explore the high standard rule system and deepen the openness of service trade;Fourth,we should improve the trade arrangement mechanism to ensure the steady development of service trade. |
