As a new economic form, the digital economy has penetrated into all fields of social and economic life and become a new engine of global economic growth, and at the same time, digital technology also plays a vital role in the development of service trade.China’s service trade has developed rapidly in recent years, but the pain point of perennial deficit in service trade has always existed, and RCEP member countries are important partners of China’s service trade,in this context, studying the digital economy development level of RCEP member countries will have any impact on China’s service exports, which is of great significance to promote China’s service exports and achieve high-quality development of service trade under the dual circulation pattern.First, this paper sorts out the relevant literature on the impact of digital economy, service trade and digital economy on service trade, and then analyzes the impact mechanism of digital economy on service trade from transaction cost theory, economy of scale theory and information asymmetry theory. It is found that the digital economy mainly promotes service exports by reducing the cost of service trade, improving the efficiency of service trade and expanding the scope of service trade.Secondly,it analyzes the development status of China’s service trade and the status quo of China’s service exports to RCEP member countries from the scale and export structure of service exports.Thirdly,a comprehensive index system for evaluating the development level of the digital economy is constructed through three first-level indicators of digital infrastructure, innovative R & D environment and transaction development momentum, and the principal component analysis method is used to measure the development level of the digital economy of the RCEP member states. There is a big gap in the development level of the digital economy.Among all member states,China’s digital economy has developed the fastest and ranks relatively high, but the digital infrastructure building is still relatively weak. Then, taking the comprehensive score of the digital economy development level of the member states as the core explanatory variable, adding control variables such as population and exchange rate, and using the fixed-effect model to analyze the impact of the digital economy development level of the RCEP member states on China’s service exports. The empirical results show that the digital economy development level of the RCEP member states has a significant positive promotion effect on the growth of China’s service exports, and countries with different levels of economic development will have different degrees of promotion effects.Compared with developing countries, the digital economy development level of developed countries has a more obvious promotion for China’s service exports. Finally, combining theoretical and empirical results, relevant policies are put forward from three aspects: helping developing countries in RCEP member countries build digital infrastructure, focusing on trade exchanges with countries with high-level innovation and R & D environments, and jointly cultivating professionals in the digital field.suggestion. |
