The development of digital technology has brought profound changes to the trade model, and emerging digital trade is becoming an important growth point for the rapid development of the national economy. All governments provide policy support to promote the development of digital trade.China has always adhered to the moderate overdue development of information infrastructure construction, regarded information infrastructure as the leading capital of economic development, and enabled it to play a role in increasing national income.Under the impetus of a series of policies,China’s information infrastructure construction has achieved great results.Information infrastructure plays an important role in enhancing China’s aggregate national strength and promoting economic development, and is becoming an important pillar of social and economic development. In this context, this thesis examines the impact of information infrastructure on digital trade.Firstly, this thesis sorts out the relevant research results of information infrastructure and digital trade by domestic and foreign scholars, summarizes the theoretical basis of information infrastructure affecting digital trade, and proposes that information infrastructure has an impact on digital trade through the industrial structure upgrading.Secondly, through the analysis of the current situation of China’s information infrastructure and digital trade,it is found that China’s communication foundation, network foundation and user base have achieved a qualitative leap, and the level of China’s digital trade is also constantly improving, but both have the characteristics of uneven regional development. Then,a comprehensive evaluation index system of information infrastructure is constructed, and the system is comprehensively scored by using the entropy evaluation method.According to the OECD Bilateral Trade in Services Sector Classification, trade data from six sectors are used as proxy variables for digital trade.Using panel data from 31 provinces from 2011 to 2020,a two-way fixed-effect model was constructed to empirically analyze the impact of information infrastructure on digital trade at both national and regional levels. The results show that information infrastructure can significantly promote the development of digital trade in China and through the test of the intermediary effect model,it is confirmed that industrial structure upgrading is an important way for information infrastructure to affect digital trade. From a regional perspective, information infrastructure promotes digital trade in economically developed regions and technologically advanced regions, but does not play an obvious role in promoting digital trade in economically underdeveloped and technologically underdeveloped areas. Finally, according to the research conclusion, corresponding suggestions are put forward,China should expand the scale of information infrastructure construction, improve the quality of information infrastructure, narrow the differences between regions of information infrastructure, and promote the development of China’s digital trade with the development of information infrastructure to provide assistance to China’s economy.
