China attaches increasing importance to the development of high and new technologies,which is an inevitable need for China’s economic transformation.Vigorously developing high-tech products is an important part of promoting China’s transformation from a manufacturing country to a world manufacturing power.In recent years,China’s high-tech products have developed rapidly in terms of export,and they have gradually become an important force to promote the growth of China’s foreign trade.The export of high-tech products is of great significance to domestic industrial development,economic transformation and stable economic growth.However,in recent years,trade protectionism has risen and the construction of the multilateral trading system has been hindered,which has had an extremely adverse impact on China’s exports of high-tech products.Under the background of China’s foreign trade policy of stepping up the promotion of regional trade agreements,whether improving the depth of regional trade agreements can promote the development of China’s high-tech product exports through reducing trade costs and improving institutional quality needs further research.Therefore,it is of great significance to explore the impact of the depth of regional trade agreements on China’s high-tech product exports and the stable development of China’s trade in the future.This article is divided into five parts: the first part is an introduction.Firstly,the research background and significance of the paper are introduced,and then the existing research is reviewed,on the basis of which the basic ideas and methods of this paper are formed,and finally the innovation points and shortcomings of the paper are elaborated.The second part is the theoretical basis and influence mechanism.Firstly,the theoretical basis of regional trade agreements deeply affecting the trade of high-tech products is introduced.Then,the impact of regional trade agreement depth on the export of high-tech products was analyzed from the perspective of trade cost and institutional distance.The third part is the current situation and in-depth analysis of China’s regional trade agreements,and the RTA depth index is constructed by using the World Bank’s in-depth trade agreement content database to measure the depth of China’s regional trade agreements from the perspective of text depth.The fourth part is the analysis of the export situation of China’s high-tech products,and analyzes the export development of China’s high-tech products from 2007 to 2020.The fifth part is the empirical analysis part.This part applies China’s high-tech product export data to20 countries that signed regional trade agreements and came into effect,constructs a gravitational model to empirically test the impact of regional trade agreement depth on China’s high-tech product exports,and applies different calculation methods to test robustness and analyze the heterogeneity of some key provisions of regional trade agreements.Part V is the conclusions and recommendations.This section summarizes the research content and makes policy recommendations from the perspective of regional trade agreement depth on this basis. |
