A Political Economy Analysis Of Platform Monopoly And Protecting National Economic Security

The report of the 20 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China pointed out that to accelerate the construction of digital China,General Secretary Xi Jinping stressed that accelerating the construction of digital China is to adapt to the new historical orientation of China’s development,fully implement the new development concept,cultivate new momentum with informatization,promote new development with new kinetic energy,and create new brilliance with new development.At the same time,it is also pointed out that economic development from external suppression and containment may escalate at any time,and various "black swan" and "gray rhino" events may occur at any time,which indicates that with the new round of scientific and technological revolution and the evolution of economic globalization,China has entered a new period of coexistence of strategic opportunities and risks and challenges,and it has become particularly important to ensure national economic security in the context of the digital economy.As a new economic system based on digital technology,the platform economy is changing the ecological environment of traditional industrial chains and value chains,and plays a huge role in improving the quality of domestic large circulation and smoothing domestic and international dual circulation.It can be said that the competition in the global digital economy is also a competition between platforms to a certain extent,and ultra-large-scale platforms have become an important factor in the competition and cooperation in the field of digital economy among countries.However,at present,the monopoly problem in the development of China’s platform economy may have a certain impact on all aspects of China’s national economic security.Therefore,in the context of platform monopoly,it is of great significance to study how the platform economy can better serve the national economic security.In order to make the platform economy better promote the development of China’s national economy,this paper studies the intrinsic relationship between platform monopoly and national economic security based on the capital turnover theory and monopoly theory of Marxist political economy,combined with the relevant content system of national economic security,and conducts a relatively full theoretical study on the participation of China’s platform economy in international competition from a macro perspective,the characteristics of the platform industry in platform monopoly from a meso perspective,and the subjectivity of digital workers participating in the platform economy from a micro perspective.It is also closely linked with national economic security,exploring how the platform economy can be better developed from macro,meso and micro perspectives,and making corresponding contributions to maintaining national economic security.Under the macro perspective of the international platform economy competition pattern,the development of China’s platform economy is second only to the United States,but in the competition between the head platform enterprises,it faces the situation that the gap is gradually opened by the leading enterprises in the United States.At the same time,compared with the common problems faced by major economies in the development of platform economy,there are still some characteristic problems in the field of platform economy in China,such as insufficient support for the development of digital economy and prominent imbalance caused by monopoly;From a meso perspective,there are certain differences between the monopoly behavior of platforms and the monopoly of traditional enterprises,and through the analysis and demonstration of the operation mode and development trend of platform economy and the platform capitalism produced by Western developed capitalist countries,it can be concluded that China’s platform monopoly under the conditions of socialist market economy will also cause corresponding national economic security problems;From a micro perspective,through the analysis of the labor situation of digital workers in the platform economy,with the help of Marx’s idea of labor subjectivity,it is explored whether digital workers in the platform economy have the conditions to give full play to the subjectivity of workers,and analyze whether they have a positive impact on maintaining national economic security.According to the difficulties faced by China’s platform economy in the development of macro,meso and micro levels,this paper gives corresponding measures and suggestions from three perspectives to help China’s platform economy participate in international economic competition and cooperation under the premise of better guidance and regulation,release the labor subjectivity of relevant workers in the field of platform economy,make it fully exerted,and promote the growth of the national economy.
